How "young" are you?
The desire to attract new iSeries customers is a perennial issue among users. Not a COMMON conference goes by when members don't express their concerns and ask IBM to spread the word and better market the iSeries. As a result, we've seen more ads for the iSeries in the business and IT press -- not just iSeries-specific outlets.
In addition, COMMON president Charlie Massoglia said in a recent interview that he believes there's a significant increase in new iSeries customers. He said one-third of the attendees at COMMON are first-timers and that there's more interest in "basic" AS/400 (or iSeries) education.
That had us wondering: How "young" are you? The image most people have of a 400 user is someone who's been using the server since it first came one the scene. But maybe that perception is wrong. Are most of you fairly new to the 400 or have you been working on it for years? Take our poll and let us know, or e-mail me your comments if you'd like to elaborate further.

V5R1 upgrade problems?

DB2 SQL connection to MS SQL Server 2000
"Symbolicgroup" writes, "Could someone clarify the connectivity issue(s) with having an iSeries server accessing databases on a MS SQL Server 2000. I understand that the CONNECT SQL statement will not work and that Java JDBC may be the proper approach. If so, do I need any special JDBC driver on the iSeries?" Site expert Shahar Mor had some advice.

How can I find every reference to a program?
"Alison9" has a program that she knows is referenced in other programs, and she's looking for a tool or command that lets her search her 400 for every instance in which her program is referenced. A couple people had suggestions, but they didn't seem to work. Do you have any ideas?
