Mistakes to learn from
Let's face it. We've all made mistakes in our jobs, some more painful than others. If you've made a huge development or administration mistake involving the iSeries (and dare to admit to it), send along the nitty-gritty details to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]. Some of our sister sites, such as SearchDomino.com and SearchWindowsManageability.com have run what they call Blooper features, and the readers on those sites have responded with enthusiasm. Here's an example. Domino Blooper # 14: Upgrade or retrograde?
We're going to give this a try on Search400.com. So, if you've got a story, send it along and be sure to let us know if you'd like us to post your real name or use an alias.

OpsNav authentication to NetServer -- What's the deal?
"Gesbos1" had a password dilemma. He was trying to use Operations Navigator to authenticate users to NetServer, but only some were able to log on. Most of his users are on Windows 2000 and hardly any have windows passwords that match AS/400 passwords. And about half of the people are able to sign onto NetServer using their AS/400 user ID/password and the other half can't. Even his profile, which has Sec Admin rights, can't sign on to NetServer. What should he do? Read what others suggested and post your own advice.

WF0029 error - sign on displayed and returns to HTML links
"JackMcCoach" needs help with his WebFaced DDS. He writes, "I am testing my first WebFaced DDS, applied the latest PTFs, confirmed the server is running and confirmed the TCP server for *webfacing is running as jobs QQF*. I click on my generated link from my Web browser, get the sign on for user id and password, but return to my generated link that started the process."

| Tip of the Week: |
See what the user sees
Sometimes the best tips are simple. During a recent support call, a technician showed site expert John Kohan a great way to capture a user's screen. Not only can you capture the person's Telnet session, but you also get everything that is running in the Windows task bar and system tray. Follow the steps he's outline in this tip to do it yourself.
