Search400.com to announce IT Excellence Award winners

Months ago Search400.com began the quest to find companies pushing the limits of the iSeries. Called the Search400.com IT Excellence Awards, the program recognizes medium- and large-scale companies that are blazing new trails in iSeries 400 computing. We wanted to honor IT achievers at end-user companies who design, build and manage these complex technologies.

So we put out a call for nominations for two categories: scalability and e-business. And now, after weeks of planning and reviewing nominations, we have our winners. We will announce them during an online awards ceremony to be broadcast on Search400.com Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. EST (19:00 GMT).

Log on Wednesday to hear who the winners are and learn about the projects that put them in the spotlight. Pre-register today to reserve your space.

>> Network Drive mapping on the iSeries
"Sglogowski" wants to know if there's any way an iSeries can get a .CSV file from a Network Drive and convert it to a database file. He says he knows how to do it manually with Client Access, but he wants to create an iSeries batch file that would do it. "TSchmitz" has a suggestion. Read what he said or post your own advice.

>> Need help with OS/400 NetWare connection
"Jwilli" has an iSeries running V4R4 and a network server running Novell NetWare 5.1. He wants to incorporate some of the IFS folders into the login script for the NetWare when people log in. But he can't get it to work. Any advice?

>> Create report to print from the iSeries
"Jaws" asks, "Is there a way to create a report to print from the 400, such as a checklist for tasks?" If you're looking for the same info, click over and read what "bugfinder" said.

Tip of the Week:
FTP: You wish to remain anonymous?
An Anonymous FTP was created to satisfy the demand of FTP-TCP/IP users all over the Internet to send and receive files of a public domain or publicly available nature. As you can imagine, with that amount of data available for FTP transfer, it was and is simply impossible to set-up user accounts and passwords for every user on every FTP server on the Internet. Follow Kris Neely's guidelines for using this feature.
