Today's Featured Tip
==============================================================

Try this CUCFILSIZ utility to review file sizes in iSeries libraries

Rather than going through pages and pages of a spool file to find
certain file sizes, you can use this utility written by Search400.com
expert Dwight Beech. He says it's even easier and faster than using
option F17 while working with libraries within PDM.

Answers to Other Programmer Questions
==============================================================

Beyond DSPPGMREF -- Scan all libraries before changing a file
No matter how much planning you do when you design a database file,
it will eventually need to be changed. Eliminate some of the hassle
by scanning ALL libraries beforehand.

Identify non-system objects in system libraries
Is there a fail-safe way of identifying all the non-system objects in
the system libraries? Search400.com expert Carol Woodbury says yes.
There are two OS/400 commands you might want to try.

Count your systems libraries
Here's a simple CL program to count and print the number of libraries
on your system. You should run this as part of your monthly security
auditing and track in a monthly security audit spreadsheet. It can
help you spot unexpected activity and document increased system
usage.

Add local libraries permanently
One user writes, "I want to add certain local libraries permanently
to certain users, but not the same ones to all users, and not any to
some users. How can I add these libraries permanently to a specific
user's libl? Search400.com OS/400 expert Ken Graap offers some
advice.
