No matter what run priority is given to these jobs, they always seem to take more resources than the main system jobs that run (written in RPGLE). Is there a way to reduce the resources given to these jobs and therefore improve the performance of our core RPG programs? We didn't either. The Net arguably turned 20 on New Year's Day. Its history dates back to when 400 computers hooked up to the old ARPANET switched over to TCP/IP, the protocol that essentially whelped the Web. But figuring out the Net's true age is about as tough as figuring out Zsa Zsa Gabor's! Some contend that the Net is really 33 years old, having been begotten at UCLA when two computers linked by a 15-foot cable exchanged data. How about an average? Let's say it's 26 and a half.
