Big Blue alleges that SCO infringed on four of its patents and breached the General Public License for Linux. The new suit, however, isn't likely to affect customers' use of the open-source operating system. >> CLICK here for story: http://search390.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid10_gci918234,00.html MORE INFORMATION: Read this Featured Topic on Linux: http://search400.techtarget.com/featuredTopic/0,290042,sid3_gci754687,00.html And this Interview with Al Zollar: Q&A -- Zollar sells SMBs on Linux http://search400.techtarget.com/qna/0,289202,sid3_gci888084,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= OTHER STORIES In addition to the headlines below, others are available on our news page. >> Full Stories: http://search400.techtarget.com/news/0,289141,sid3,00.html NJ TAXES BITE OUT-OF-STATE SOFTWARE COMPANIES | iSeries Network Are New Jersey state taxes hurting software sales? One iSeries software vendor based in the southeastern U.S. believes so. After doing business there, he was told to file corporate income tax returns in that state, pay a minimum tax of $500 for even a single license sold with that state, and pay a $100 state license fee -- for every year that the license is in effect. CHECK(ER) | Expert Advice: Search400.com "Darwin123" wonders if there is a way to differentiate (in an RPG program) whether the enter key was pressed by the user, or if "enter" is returned to the program because of the CHECK(ER) doing its thing. A Web site developed by a Connecticut man offers, as a joke, chimps and baboons to work as cheap computer programmers. The site says companies should provide "a leafy, comfortable workspace" and cautions that "hominids (great apes) will not share source code and become very territorial when programming." You may think programmers would be peeved -- but it was a bunch of scientists who went bananas. The site cited data from a real ape sanctuary, and officials there demanded to have the site pull all references to their place.
