Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi brought a surprise along on his recent visit to the Czech Republic. Koizumi unveiled the latest version of Asimo, a 4-foot-tall robot made by Honda, and the mechanical marvel soon became the artificial life of the party. Asimo told jokes, greeted guests and made a champagne toast. Czechs probably wondered whether their notoriously stiff prime minister was actually the robot at this function.
