I thought our system was secure. Then I installed StandGuardAudit and
StandGuard Anti-Virus. I found 53 users with delete authority, 3,000+
viruses on the IFS, and security policies being bypassed by ODBC
apps. I knew I had to correct things fast! I read the FREE white
paper "Top Security Issues for the IFS," visited booth 726 at COMMON,
and got the StandGuard Security Suite.

AUTOMATE DISASTER RECOVERY RESTORES
by Rich Loeber

Part of the job of a security officer is creating, maintaining and
testing your disaster recovery plan. A major part of disaster
recovery is recreating your computing environment on a completely
different system, and that always involves data and program restores.
You might be one of the fortunate ones that has access to a
comprehensive third-party save/restore application that automates the
disaster recovery restore process for you. If you're in that group,
this article is not for you. But, if you're a small- to medium-sized
shop that can't afford (or won't consider) one of those products,
then you're on your own to create a workable disaster recovery
method.

ARE YOUR BACKUPS COMPLETE?
There are many layers to security. You have to make sure that
intruders don't get in. And if they do get in, they must not be
allowed to do anything harmful. One way to minimize that security
risk is to make sure that your backup plan is up to date -- and that
it works.

COMPLETE BACKUP INSTRUCTIONS
One user turned to backup & recovery expert Ken Graap for help when
his customers were looking to back up all the user data on their
systems. Ken walked him through the process and provided all the
commands that need to be included.

organization's data from harm or loss.

as-sess-ment \a-'ses-ment\ n. 1: the act or instance of assessing
or appraisal. Combine 'security' with 'assessment' and you have the
act or instance of appraising a company's security.

At SkyView Partners we don't let our consulting end with an
assessment. Led by Carol Woodbury, former OS/400 chief security
architect for IBM, our team looks at your top 5 security risks,
explains why you should be concerned and provides you with a plan
to address your need. That's where security changes to
action...with a plan. Visit http://www.skyviewpartners.com and tell
