DISTRIBUTE SPOOL FILES TO PRINTERS EASILY
by Kenneth Graap

Wouldn't it be nice to have a "simple" process for distributing
copies of spool files to different printers? Or one that just uses
basic OS/400 commands and definitions?

Well, you can, with just a few simple user profiles, distribution
entries and the SNDNETSPLF command.

ANOTHER WAY TO OUTPUT A SPOOL FILE TO MULTIPLE PRINTERS
Search400.com member Gail Lorzing has written code for the CL that
she uses to send duplicate spool files to different printers.

ERROR WHEN TRYING TO SEND A SPOOLFILE
What do you do when you get the message "User not enrolled in system
distribution directory" when trying to use the SNDNETSPLF command?
Several Search400.com members in the discussion forum had
suggestions.

RETAIN USER DATA ON SPOOLFILE TRANSFER
Search400.com member Vijayakumar Kannan provides a way to identify
what each spoolfile or report is all about. The user can eliminate
the display of every QSYSPRT spooolfile under his user ID and see
what information is displayed to determine if it's the correct
report.

PRINT MULTIPLE COPIES OF SPOOLFILE
One user writes, "We have a shipping document that prints
four copies (we have different colored paper for each
copy). The problem is when the shipper runs onto more than
one page, all of copy one will print first, then all of
copy two, etc. This will not work for us because we have
the color-coded paper for each copy. What we would like to
do is print all of the page ones first, then all of the
page twos, etc. Is this even possible?" "Ckelly" knew just
what to do.

LEARNING GUIDE | The facts about UCCnet

If you work for a supplier, there's no doubt that company will have
to become UCCnet-compliant -- if it isn't already. In the works for
a couple years now, UCCnet provides a global repository where
enterprises can register item data and share standardized,
synchronized supply-chain information. Your job: Getting all
of your company's data into the registry. How do you do that? These
resources will start you on your way.
