EXPERT ADVICE
Securing third-party libraries
Carol Woodbury, security advice

Dear Carol,
I am trying to secure several third-party libraries so only certain user profiles can access them. The owner is QSECOFR and *PUBLIC is set to *EXCLUDE. I have a validation list set for these libraries with the user profiles needing access. When I sign on as a user who is not in the access list and is *USER, I can still do a runqry to access the files in these libraries. When I check the object authority for the library using that profile, it lists *ADOPT *ALL. What am I missing?

THE MISSING LINK
Boredom cure expensive in Germany

This is the kind of shopping spree that would make Paris Hilton blush. Here are the astounding numbers: one Internet connection, two hours, three German teenagers and nearly $160 million. The teens hacked into an account at an auction Web site and went wild -- like geeks in a computer store. They bought small planes, patents, industrial machinery, restaurants and artwork, with money they didn't even begin to have. German authorities are looking into the spree. The kids said they did it because they were bored.
