This Week: In the forums
>> The OS/400 Command interface is excellent, but it could be improved
"Abraham" has some ideas for improving OS/400 and RPG, which he says would require little investment or re-education of the OS/400 community. If IBM accepts these suggestions, the iSeries world would be a much better place, he says. Click over and read his ideas, then tell us what you think about them.

>> Audio alert for break message
"Manly1" asks, "How can I get a break message on my 5250 session and also have a sound alert me to the break message?" "MindNL" had a suggestion.

>> Slow printing with IPDS printers
"LGRANT" has two LAN printers (HP LaserJet 4050 and HP LaserJet 4000) that are set up to print barcodes on the iSeries (820 V5R1). Both printers have been serviced, are maxed out with memory and have the required DIMM to enable them print barcodes. Still, printing is slow. What's going on? "RMalloy" advises.

Tip of the Week:
How to retrieve the RPGLE source
It is possible to retrieve source from RPG programs, as long as the program has been compiled with the correct parameters, says Search400.com member J.R. Friedman. With this procedure you can retrieve the source from single-module RPGLE programs compiled with CRTBNDRPG with DBGVIEW(*LIST).
