How does your IT shop compare?

Do you ever wonder how your data center stacks up against those of your peers? You know the feeling: You look at tech developments big and small, and you wonder whether you are ahead of the curve, keeping up or trailing behind. We want to share with you a snapshot of where you and your peers stand on key trends and issues, and how your data center may change in the year ahead.

  • Are Windows and Linux ready to play with the big kids in the data center? (Maybe they already are the big kids.)
  • Is on-demand computing the way to go?
  • How do you keep the systems running when budgets get whacked?
  • What challenges keep you awake at night?

These are just some of the questions that we are asking IT managers in a survey being conducted in conjunction with TechTarget's Data Center Decisions conference. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts on today's hot data center issues.

It seems that when I run the commands through the shell, the command completes and the application server starts or stops. But when I call these commands from within a CL program and submit them to batch, the server starts with an internal failure." Do you have any idea what's going on?
