The Missing Link
Kerry e-mail survives spam filters, reaches masses
[Reuters]
John Kerry broke new ground in presidential politics by using a mass e-mail to get the word out that he had picked John Edwards as his running mate. But this triumph of technology was trumped by another technology: 12 hours earlier, USAviation.com posted a report that Edwards decals were being affixed to Kerry's campaign plane, a report that turned out to be more reliable than the New York Post's declaration that Kerry planned to tap Dick Gephardt. The Internet certainly has changed politickin' -- and political reporting -- as we know it.
