Are you familiar with Host Publisher 2.1?
Search400.com member John Brook is working with an old version of Host Publisher with no support contract. He wonders if anyone is familiar with this old product. If so, he has a few questions he'd like to ask you.

Working through a WebFacing problem
"Mathias" is running WDSc AE 5.1.0.3 and has performed the conversion process of an iSeries application. When he calls the initial program, the log-on screen appears. But when he submits the logon, he gets signed off immediately. A few Search400.com members tried to help him out. Read what they had to say, and offer your suggestions.

No jobs out there for programmers
"Don," who lives in Virginia and is in contact with user group officials and headhunters worldwide, doesn't agree with a previous salary report from Nate Viall and Associates. He says, "Evidently Nate Viall hasn't been reading any want ads lately; there just are NO ADS for iSeries programmers." We asked what your experience has been. Quite a few folks wrote in, read what they had to say about the jobs in their areas. |

The CHGSYSJOB command lets you configure system jobs
by Ron Turull

Automated disaster recovery -- revisited
by Rich Loeber
A little more than a year ago, I wrote a security tip about automating your iSeries disaster recovery restore process. Of the many tips I've done over the last several years, none has drawn as much "fan mail" as this particular tip. Well, due to some OS/400 changes, the process outlined in the tip no longer works. This tip provides a workaround for newer OS/400 versions.
