Get up to speed on backup and recovery

Smaller budgets, slim-to-none training funds, no time for training. Does any of that sound familiar? Well, you're certainly not alone. One of the biggest gripes iSeries users have is that there is rarely money left in the budget for training. Search400.com feels your pain, and we've created FREE online learning guides to get up to speed fast on iSeries trends and technologies -- and best yet, you can review these guides when it's convenient for you.

Our latest learning guide revisits a topic important to all iSeries shops -- backup and recovery. Would you be able to recover your systems in the event of a disaster? Hopefully the answer is yes. Check out the tips, articles, white papers and other resources to help make sure your backups and restores are being done correctly.

Looking for help with other iSeries issues? We have several other learning guides listed in our Best Web Links section. On the Search400.com home page -- under "More Topics" -- click on iSeries Basics, and you'll see a list of all of the learning guides.

Tip of the Week:
Build Web apps using free utility -- WOW!
by Paul Holm

Many of you are familiar with the capabilities provided with the green-screen product called Query/400. As you know, businesses use Query/400 to generate reports by selecting and sequencing files and fields using DB2/400 files. With the world moving away from green screen toward browser-based Web interfaces, wouldn't it be great if there were a way to have Query/400 available on the Web? Well, something very similar is available -- and it's free.
