Search400.com's new look helps you find information fast
[by Michelle Davidson, editor]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
When you need help with a problem, you don't care who gives it to you as long as it's good advice. With that in mind, we have given Search400.com a brand-new look that makes it easier to find tips, advice and other resources according the issue you're dealing with.
No longer do you have to wade through hundreds of tips or Ask the Expert Q&As looking for information on Web-enabling, OS/400 upgrades, system performance -- or whatever the issue may be. Now you just click on the topic and all the pertinent
articles are right there.
In addition, we have redesigned our home page. We have streamlined the look by reducing visual clutter and applying the same topical organization as found on our inside pages to make it easier to use.
All of the elements you're used to finding on Search400.com are still there -- now all you need to do is browse by subject to find a solution to your problem.
If by chance you ever get lost navigating the site, you can still find our usual menu tabs at the top of each page. You'll also find an improved site map at the bottom of the home page that will take you wherever you want to go on the site.
We believe you'll find the new design to be a great improvement. Let us know what you think about it. Send your feedback and comments to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED].

ASK THE EXPERTS:
What authority do I need?
[Carol Woodbury, president, CEO, SkyView Partners]
This user has *SECADM special authority in his user profile. He has *ALL authority to a specific library from which he needs to manually delete the objects created by other users. How can he do it without granting himself *ALLOBJ special authority or granting authority for each object created? Security expert Carol Woodbury advises.
TIP:
Utility helps you determine the status of PTFs on your system quickly
By Ron Turull
Without the licensed program information, determining if your system has a particular PTF already applied is a real pain in the neck. You usually have to search through the PTFs of several licensed programs to find (or not find, as the case may be) a particular PTF. Personally, I had had enough several years ago, so I created a utility to alleviate the problem.

Users not so quick to give up the iSeries
Even with its Midrange Alliance Program, Microsoft will have to fight to persuade iSeries users to give up the server. The iSeries is far better than any Windows server, they say.

iSeries revenue decline
IBM blamed the continued slide in iSeries revenue to the slow transition to i5, implying thing will eventually turn around. Are you optimistic or is IBM fighting a losing battle?
