Transferring objects between systems
[Search400.com]
What is the easiest way to copy a query (i.e. query definition) from one iSeries machine to another? Search400.com expert Glen Bunnell explains.
Quickly copy an RPG or CL source member from one iSeries to another
[Search400.com]
Copying an RPG or CL program source from a remote iSeries into the iSeries you are currently on can be achieved several ways. One way is by using Client Access data transfer. Another way is by using the iSeries SNDNETF command. But both take time. The fastest way Search400.com member Carlito 'Itto' Cruz has found is by using two iSeries commands: CRTDDMF and CPYF.
Dynamically transfer files via FTP
[Search400.com]
How would you like to have a program that dynamically creates an iSeries FTP script, runs the FTP and then checks for errors? Search400.com expert Tim Granatir shares one that he's written, as well as a few FTP tricks, tips and gotchas you should be aware of.
Improve old iSeries communication methods
[Search400.com]
The iSeries has come a long way in its ability to handle communications. Although it handles IP communications well, there are a lot of synchronous modems still in existence and a lot of SDLC dial-up connections still around. If you're using one of those methods, then this tip is for you.
