If the driver didn't report A3 as available, it wouldn't be used after all. The only information we do have is what the driver reports. A lot of users works with Din A4 or letter format. And a lot of this users doesn't own a Din A3 printer. The point is to do not change the paper format at the driver. Selecting text that is in front of inserted (wrap: through, background) pictures using the mouse is not possible. Furthermore, if the user right-clicks over keyboard-selected text with the mouse being in front of inserted pictures, the picture is selected and the right mouse menu is appropriate for the picture. Example: try selecting the text in front of the golf ball in the attached file. However, when using a background image (example: compass) using the page properties, selecting text is no issue.
