[ath9k-devel] Connection Problem with ATH9K an Dlink DIR 600 Router

2011-01-03 Thread Markus Mÿfffffcller
Hello,

i have to connect to a new Wifi AP: Dlink DIR 600 and i have a TP-Link
TL-WN422G.

I compiled the compat wireless driver from 2010 12 26 and use the last snapshot
firmware.

The problem is: I got connection to the acess point, got an IP but i can´t surf
or anything. The router has the IP 192.168.0.1 and is also unrechable.

What can i do to get a working connection ?

With the old access point ( i think it was a brannded fritz box ) everything
works.

Best Regards

Markus

PS: Don´t kill me, but at the same PC with XP everything works, but i need
linux!

[ath9k-devel] bandwidth problems

2011-01-03 Thread mbutubuntu
Hello folks, I've a Netgear WNA1100
http://www.netgear.com/Products/WirelessAdapter/WirelessAdaptersforSimpleSharing/WNA1100.aspx
USB adaptor and I've installed drivers from compat wireless on Fedora 14
with Kernel 2.6.35.10-74, it works but iwconfig says the bandwidth is
limited to 1Mbps, the network is very slow and I can't tune the rate
parameter (Error for wireless request Set Bit Rate (8B20)).

is there any solution? please send me an answer quickly because I can't
change the adaptor after tomorrow.

Re: [ath9k-devel] target unresponsive form ath9k_htc.

2011-01-03 Thread Yevgeniy Melnichuk
hello everybody,

it looks like the problem is the combination of virtualbox + linux (as guest).
The device works fine with the same kernel on a non-virtualized machine. i am
surprised, because virtualbox + win xp worked too.

thx everyone for you help.
Yevgeniy.

[ath9k-devel] Query regarding ath9k acknowledgement handling

2011-01-03 Thread Jay Davidson
Hi all,

I would be grateful if someone could outline how (packet etc.)
acknowledgements work in the ath9k driver (as 802.11n uses block ack.), and
what sections of code need to be modified(patch) to disable or amend the
acknowledgement mechanism.

Thank you all very much

Rate control handled in firmware so iwconfig does not shows the actual
rate(which will be higher) and you cannot configure bit rates.
You can get the actual rate by looking at ath9k_htc debug stats.
