Re: Happy Windows 95 25th anniversary My startup sound on both my W10 desktop and laptop is a remastered version of the Windows 95 startup. Its a great sound. And I wasn't alive when 95 was released. The current sound scheme in W10 is major weak sauce. Re: Happy Windows 95 25th anniversary
Re: Happy Windows 95 25th anniversary I used Windows 95 briefly, when I got my first computer. I didn't realize that was what it was, because my folks put Omni1000 (Not Kurzweil, that came later) on it. The "jungle," sound scheme always scared me a little bit, especially one of the little bird sounds that played whenever there was an error.I don't miss Win 95 as much as Win 98, which was when I first really became aware of a computer OS as a separate thing. Happy Windows 95 25th anniversary
Happy Windows 95 25th anniversary Today, August 24th 2020 is the 25th birthday for Windows 95. It definitely deserves a topic here. if you use Windows you probably use the taskbar the start menu and more. You should definitely thank Windows 95 for those. I am not old enough to get to experience Windows 95 but I got to experience it on virtual machines. Windows 95 introduced a whole new graphical operating system with a whole lot of new features that modern windows definitely have. And it's a no-brainer that everyone uses those. I really liked Windows 95 when I first tried it on a virtual machine. It does not feel that old. With a really short period of 4 days 1 million copies of Windows 95 are sold. And it ruled the world with over 56 % market share. so happy birthday Windows 95. I hope you also liked Windows 95.
