Re: [BackupPC-users] Centos 6.3 install

2012-08-10 Thread Estanislao López Morgan
I have installed backuppc on my centos 6.2 with LVM and 4 hd (neraly 7 TB)
and works great. This is what I did.

   1. Install the EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux) repository.
   2. Disable the system-config-firewall and selinux (may be there is a
better way to do this, but it works for me)
   3. Then just:
   4. # yum install perl-File-RsyncP.i686
   5. #yum install perl-Net-FTP-AutoReconnect.noarch
   6. #yum install perl-Net-FTP-RetrHandle.noarch
   7. #yum install BackupPC.i686
   8. Finally configure apache's user and backuppc. You should know how to
do that. Is the same for every backuppc plataforms

Have you tried to do "ssh -l root host_ip whoami" and see what you get? If

Re: [BackupPC-users] cannot log in web browser - BackupPC CentOS 6.2 minimal

2012-02-08 Thread Estanislao López Morgan
Hi Fellows Backuppers!

Finally, my backuppc in CentOS 6.2 is working! I just want to comment what
I did in case someone had, have or will have the same problem.

After installing CentOS minimal 6.2 and disable SeLinux and the IpTables
(just in case). So what I did was:

wget
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/beta/6/i386/perl-File-RsyncP-0.68-6.el6.i686.rpm

yum -y localinstall perl-File-RsyncP-0.68-6.el6.i686.rpm

yum install perl-Net-FTP-AutoReconnect.noarch

yum install perl-Net-FTP-RetrHandle.noarch

wget
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/beta/6/i386/BackupPC-3.1.0-13.el6.noarch.rpm
yum -y localinstall BackupPC-3.1.0-13.el6.noarch.rpm

yum install sudo.i686

After that, I follow the indications in CentOS.org about backuppc
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/BackupPC but with the differences that
instead of:
htpasswd -c /var/lib/backuppc/passwd/htpasswd your_user

you have to do :
htpasswd -c /etc/BackupPC/apache.users yourusername

You can find this at /etc/httpd/conf.d/BackupPC.conf

Then just follow what is writen in CentOS How To link.

Thanks for your help boys

[BackupPC-users] cannot log in web browser - BackupPC CentOS 6.2 minimal

2012-02-07 Thread Estanislao López Morgan
Hello again...

Now with BackupPC in CentOS minimal 6.2 installation (just reinstalled) I
cannot log in the web browser of the backuppc. Looks like the user or
password are not correct. In order to accomplish that I made a htpasswd -cp
so I am able to read the htpasswd file (not encrypted). I am sure that the
user and password I use are the correct one. Any clue?

Thanks a lot, boys... I tried to all solutions but reinstall CentOS

Have anyone ever try that kind of packages from EPEL ?

Re: [BackupPC-users] backup failed (can't find Compress::Zlib)

2012-02-03 Thread Estanislao López Morgan
Thanks for answer. I tried what you told me but installing
perl-Scalar-List-Utils (using yum) have conflicts with some files of the
perl-4:5.10.1-119.el6_1.1.i686. In particular with
 file /usr/share/man/man3/List::Util.3pm.gz
 file /usr/share/man/man3/List::Util::XS.3pm.gz
 file /usr/share/man/man3/Scalar::Util.3pm.gz
I deleted them manualy because if you remove perl package (the whole one)
backuppc web server, doesn't work. But that did not fix my problem.

Maybe you are wondering why don't use CPAN, well I was not able to make it
work correctly. When I run cpan install Scalar::Util, It does not make the
"make" part during the compilation.

I am thinking in changing CentOS version (I am using 6.2 currently). Do you
know some CentOS distro with this bug repaired?

Regards

Hi backupers, I am projecting a migration in my backup server file system,
to a LVM structure in order to enlarge my actual and future disk capacity.
For that pourpose, I have to delete some backups but I am having problems
with script /BackupPC_deleteBackup.sh. When I execute it, this is the
result:
 ./BackupPC_deleteBackup.sh
./BackupPC_deleteBackup.sh: 42: declare: not found
./BackupPC_deleteBackup.sh: 43: declare: not found
./BackupPC_deleteBackup.sh: 44: declare: not found
./BackupPC_deleteBackup.sh: 46: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

I have already installed bash and other scrips works properly... so the
problem is with that script in particular.

Someone knows why?

Thanks in advance

Regards

[BackupPC-users] Expanding Disk Capacity

2011-12-26 Thread Estanislao López Morgan
Dear BackupPc's friends,

My pool file system is growing every day and I need to expand my disk
capacity on my backup server. I already have a 1.5TB hard disk. I have been
studing this subjet for a couple of weeks, and change my storage scheme to
LVM (for example) seems to be the better choice. Someone have ever done
that? It is necesary to reinstall all the backuppc server in the new
storage scheme?

Thanks in advance

[BackupPC-users] Deleted manually

2011-10-14 Thread Estanislao López Morgan
Hi fallows from Backup Pc... I have a problem with my backups. I had to
delete a wrong backup, so I tried to run the famous script to do that, but
it did not work. So I deleted manually. I did it in /var/lib/backuppc/pc/
and then in /etc/backuppc/ and deleted the .pl and .pl.old that correspond
to the PC which backup I wanted to erase and from my hosts list. The
problem is when I add the PC again to my backup schedule. The backups are
made but I am not able to see it in the web browser. I am not able to browse
the backup. Never the least, the backup is made because I can find it
in /var/lib/backuppc/pc/.
Thanks in advance !

[BackupPC-users] Backuppc-BackupFilesOnly

2011-10-07 Thread Estanislao López Morgan
Hi fallows from Backup Pc... I have a problem selecting the files to
Backup. When I set the folders to backup in the BackupFilesOnly
option (for example /home), no matter what, at least the first full
backup it does to all the directories. Anyone know why it does it?
