Greetings Friends,

I made a mistake in the website address for Giant for you to register
for A+ rewards for Mikayla's school

Please go to www.giantfood.com http://www.giantfood.com [I left out
the word 'food' in my original message to you.]

Once again, thank you for helping...

Greetings,

We three Ladies of Abell would really appreciate if you'd help with the
easiest kind of fund raising for Mikayla's school... through Giant A+
rewards -- if your shop at Giant. If you'd like to help, just go to
www.giant.com http://www.giant.com, choose 'Our Stores' tab, select A+
under the 'Our Stores' tab and follow the directions to enter your Giant
card # and enter her school number [05660]. That's all there is to it.
When you shop at Giant your A+ rewards are automatically applied to her
school. If you'd like to add more support by forwarding this request to
other friends/family you know who would like to help the school we
appreciate that help too. As of this September she's going to The
Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School and we all are totally
delighted she's there!

Thank you very much for helping

Mikayla and Cassandra and Vonnie~~

 Didon,

I went to my appeal of assessment this past Saturday morning armed with
the
work sheets of other comparable properties (6) and took digital pictures
(documents) of what I consider to be value decreasing flaws in my
property.
The hearing officer seemed impressed with the pictures and wanted to
retain
them to discuss with her supervisor. Hey!, ...you put together the best
argument you can to work the proper magic! They are not very interested
in
crying and anguished facial expressions, but want instead real concrete
arguments. You can't fake your way through any of it and get any sympathy
at
 all!

I have been down three times so far in my life and accomplished
substantial
 reductions each time.

The first time I went to the second step of the appeal process which is a
hearing before the Appeal Board. It was wonderful!, ...before it was over
my
assessor was pleading for mercy and blaming all his mistakes on everyone
else!
It's such Nirvana inflict humility on your assessor! I told them the
dollar
value that I thought the properly should be assessed for and that's what
they
ended up assessing it for! Exactly my number!

If I could only figure our how to have that same effect on the IRS!

 Good Luck with your appeal!

[Chat] Free Air Conditioner!!

2005-04-03 Thread Didon Pachner

Hi All,

Does anyone want a freeFriedrich window air
conditioner that can cool an entire house? I received this air conditioner
as a hand-me-down and have been usingit forcouple of years. It
was new in 1989 and is very large - just barely fits in one of my front
windows. It takes a weird outlet - either a 220 or 230. I've decided
to get a smaller, newer unit that doesn't take up my entire window.

If you want to check it out, it is sitting on my
front porch - 3005 Guilford Ave. It is made up of 3 parts:

 - a cooling unit
 - a sleeve that the cooling unit
fits into
 - a control panel

Emil,

I just contacted a bunch of roofers about replacing a gutter on my house.
The only one
that actually showed up and gave me a reasonable estimate was:

Liberty Roofing

I went through the old archives and they have a reputation of consistently
doing good
work. It will take them about a month to get here but I can wait.

Everyone else I called either didn't show up, was out of business, or gave
me a ridiculous
quote.

My neighbor Rollin asked me to recommend a roofer.

We had McDermott Son do our roof. We didn't pick them ourselves
though. Nancy Hubble hired them to put a new roof on before we moved
in, and we have to use them to maintain the guarantee on the roof.
They seem competent but I can't give a strong recommendation. There's
still some leaking around our skylight after the last coating, and we
thought they were going to seal that up. Then again, it might be a
 leak in the skylight itself.

Does anybody else have a good roofer to recommend?

FYI: Silver coat for our roof cost us $600. That's supposed to
decrease roof temperature and save air-conditioning in the summer.
