LAC Group seeks professional Librarians and Information Technicians to 
implement and start-up an integrated library system (ILS) for our government 
client located in Forest Park, GA, outside of Atlanta.   This will be a 
full-time position for 6 months to a year of service working with library 
software and information to get the newly acquired Sirsi/Dynix Symphony ILS 
system up and running.  This position requires someone with a Secret Clearance 
(or higher). Subject to award.
Qualifications:

  *   Have management or technical experience in the areas of analysis, 
evaluation, planning, design, development, implementation and support of 
complex programs, primarily working with a library Integrated Library Systems 
(Sirsi/Dynix Symphony).
  *   Experience in planning and overseeing large-scale software 
implementations or technical programs
  *   Has knowledge of library techniques, systems and procedures with some 
knowledge of sources of reference on bibliographical material.
  *   Experience in the analysis, design, development, installation or support 
of routine computer software programs in broad multi-user areas such as: 
acquisition/development of systems and equipment, library systems; archival 
systems, knowledge and information management;
  *   Must have previous experience working with Sirsi/Dynix Symphony  ILS, or 
similar, particularly in the areas of implementation

for a prestigious government library on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA. This is a 
full-time position for approximately 8 weeks, to develop and populate 27 
individual websites using existing content. This project will collocate, 
organize and classify licensed and public domain resource content for specific 
subject areas providing institutional electronic access enabling enhanced 
knowledge and more efficient and effect delivery of institutional objectives. 
This position is in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities:

  *   Responsible for website data placement and integrity
  *   Understand the website design template, the website data status of each 
resource, the data file PDF construction, nomenclature and saving process, and 
the start/continue loading timeframe from resource folders (from the data 
gatherers and maintenance librarian) and from subject term folders (from the 
reference librarians and maintenance librarian)
  *   Subject classification will denote organizing data resource file content 
according to government designated subject terms creating subject-specific 
knowledge structures. This will enable website users to access website content 
by subject or by resource. Subject classification has no relationship to any 
type of US Government security classification

Qualifications:

  *   Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) in computer related 
field with courses in website development, design, and management
  *   Working knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Adobe, and Photoshop

LAC Group seeks two Information Architects in the DC Metro area (Fort Meade, 
MD) to work for a well known Federal Agency. The IA's responsibilities include 
using advanced technical skills in designing, creating, evaluating, maintaining 
and inputting information into data management systems and Web and Intranet 
pages by using professionally accepted protocols. Must have expertise related 
to complex software or Web-based programs with direct application to the 
library or information disseminating setting.
Responsibilities:

Qualifications

LAC Group is seeking Content Archivists and Content Technicians for several 
short-term projects. The duration of the projects, which will take place in 
several cities throughout the United States vary in length from a few weeks to 
several months. Archivists, Librarians, Technicians and other information 
specialists with strong backgrounds in electronic content are strongly 
encouraged to apply. The work must be done on-site in each locale.

Responsibilities:
* Consolidate existing content-inventory records (whether electronic or 
paper)
* Work with client to locate, identify materials and coordinate 
scheduling.
* Gather, update, export, and upload existing inventory records to the 
Content Inventory Project (CIP) web-based database
* Create electronic records for content that has not been inventoried 
yet using the CIP inventory form
* Work with project manager to migrate existing records to CIP (likely 
using XML and other relevant tools)
* Write 1-page summary with photos assessing the collection and 
estimating time needed to complete the inventory
* Write 2 reports detailing steps taken and recommendations for the 
local station(s) to follow in order to participate in this project
* Complete each organization's electronic inventory at the item level 
of public-content media archives (tools may include FilemakerPro, Excel, 
web-based forms, etc.)
* Deliver completed inventory to host organization


Minimum Qualifications

 *   Must have experience or ability to work in a production/quota-based 
environment
 *   Must have knowledge of XML, metadata used in video and audio files, 
various file formats, broadcast and production standards for A/V files
 *   Must have experience in public radio/TV production, A/V file formats, 
moving-image archives, audio archives, and/or PBCore metadata standards
 *   Must be able to use Excel, FilemakerPro, and other technological tools in 
order to complete the inventory
 *   Must be able to work efficiently and independently
 *   Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively 
with local station CIP project managers
 *   No compensation for travel or relocation expenses will be provided
 *   Local candidates only. Must have reliable transportation

Work Hours: Work will be performed within regular business hours (between the 
hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm Mon - Fri local time).  Content Archivists will have 
supervisory responsibilities for the Technicians at each location

 *   Duluth, MN
