I have a gta02v5
maybe you failed to install the modules for your kernel (IIRC, one of
the modules is crypto support, which means it is needed for WPA connections)

Re: [QtExtended] Qt Extended 4.4.3 released

2009-03-20 Thread Filip Onkelinx
Hi Chris,

what kernel are you using ?

On 2.6.28/29 (not sure about older ones) there is the usb bug (OM ticket
2254) that does not detect when usb disconnects. So once connected trough
usb, the interface stays 'up', even if no longer connected, and the fr
keeps trying to route packets trough it. This is causing other media
(wifi, GPRS) not to work. A simple workaround is to issue an 'ifdown usb0'
in a terminal.

Cheers,

Filip.

Is wifi working? no way for me!

As I see there is a patch on the [1] , using this patch, there is no way to
connect to wlan.
Without that patch, I can connected but I cannot "see" any site etc. (cant
get DNS?)

Can you please share how did you managed to connect on wlan?

AT%N0187 is not canceled by susped/resume. At least it wasnt in my
experiments. I attempted to place AT%N0187 after call, but it seems
to be quite complicated. The solution _before_ call is probably good
enough (at least for now).

I have tried adding AT%N0187 in cpiNotification with the condition

if ( status == 6 && call && call->state() == QPhoneCall::Incoming )

not work. It seems that the command is behind the "Accept" action.

Then next. what about receiving incoming call twice?

IMO all the needed callbacks are already there. Attached is patch that
fixes echo for both incoming and outgoing calls. I have also binary [1].

Next step is to send AT%N0187 on init and _after_ call is made (as

Yeah, that's just the problem I was having with the 4.4.2 version!

I guess now that we've got control of the code there might be the opportunity
to put in a callback in the main body of the code to the OpenMoko specific
library rather than relying on the existing callbacks.

That might be the best bet.

OK - I'll send the echo cancellation patch to the list now as applied to your
4.4.3 repository (I've created a local branch called chris for now). The
4.4.2 patch applied with no changes and no fuzz.

Hi HouYu and Chris,
i am using QTE from your git repo. For me the echo cancellation patch
does work just for outgoing calls. If someone calls me, he has still
echo.

I think that the AT%N0187 is not sent before incoming call. The patch
adds it to many places, but the only right place IMO is before outgoing
and incoming call.

The outgoing is ok - it's function dialVoiceCommand(). The incoming -
i am not sure yet which function is the right place.

As first experiment i have put it in abortDial() function. Now if i
hang up (abort) dialing the AT%N0187 is sent and next incoming call is
without echo. I can even suspend my phone and the AT%N0187 effect
remains.

I am attaching my patch. My next step is to find a function that is
called before incoming call and send AT%N0187 there.

Any sane distro should use a fixed GSM firmware. The latest version is
moko11.

Hi,

next to the echo cancellation fix, is there a fix for "receiving
incoming call twice" problem?
IIRC there was also a problem with the device not waking up from
suspend when an alarm was due (the alarm was on time once after a
reboot, but never again after that). Maybe this is already fixed in the
final 4.4.3 release (I filed a bug report for that at Qt some months
ago ...)?
Since qtextended is the only release with a good working pim (for now),
I'm very interested in any future development here.

Does this release needs a firmware upgrade (moko11) or is this not
needed?

Franky

OK - I'll send the echo cancellation patch to the list now as applied to your
4.4.3 repository (I've created a local branch called chris for now). The
4.4.2 patch applied with no changes and no fuzz.

Chris, which repo do you prefer? if you insist on your github repo, then I
hope you could update it to 4.4.3.
for my repo, it's already based on 4.4.3. and it a good start point to

Hi Lorn,

Is that your repo, or someone elses ? It hasn't been touched
for 4 months or so from the look of it.

Is it worth carrying on with the one I set up on github in the meantime or

I'm doing a git push now, and it's going to take a long time to finish over
this ADSL link (it did 3% in about 10 minutes).

When it completes it's going to be here:

 http://github.com/chrissamuel/qtextended/tree/master

Note that what I'm pushing is *not* 4.4.3, it's the original 4.4.2 with an
extra commit which is the echo fix I previously posted.

It's now gone 11pm here and as I'm involved in a bushfire benefit festival [1]
tomorrow out at Hurstbridge for people in the Kinglake area of Victoria I
won't get a chance to do anything more until Sunday as it doesn't finish until
midnight Saturday!

Then I'll hopefully get a chance to add collaborators and maybe figure out how
to push 4.4.3 into it too unless someone else wants to do that ? (I'm pretty
new to git).

cheers,
Chris

Great, i will gladly test it.

Now that we have last release from Nokia would it be possible
to setup public repository with patches from comunity?

I would like to contribute, but i am not aware of any place
where my patches could end up.

Could we have e.g. git repository with latest enhancements
or sourceforge project or perhaps openmoko is willing to host
the project? What are your opinions?

Re: [QtExtended] Qt Extended 4.4.3 released

2009-03-05 Thread Tomas Riveros Schober
can you try to set up a wlan connection (or a gprs one) and check if
resolv.conf gets updated properly? that's one of the biggest flaws that
old QtE had
the rootfs you're using is fso, right?

regards,
Tom

Re: [QtExtended] Qt Extended 4.4.3 released

2009-03-05 Thread HouYu Li
Just had a test. Echo is there, and incoming call is received twice. I am
using rootfs and kernel from openmoko daily build 20090120. So the kernel is
2.6.24.
