Bug#444658: phpwiki: [INTL:fr] French debconf templates translation update
Package: phpwiki Version: N/A Severity: wishlist Tags: patch l10n Please find attached the french debconf templates update, proofread by the debian-l10n-french mailing list contributors. If you do not already use it, you might consider using the "podebconf-report-po" utility, which helps warning translators about changes when you modify some debconf templates in your packages. The usual policy when using it is sending a warning to translators when you plan to upload a version of your package with debconf templates changes (even typo corrections). Then leave about one week for them to update their files (several translation teams have a QA process which requires time). podebconf-report-po will take care of sending the translators the needed material as well as getting the translators adresses from the PO files. All you have to do is just using the utility..:-) Example use (from your package build tree): $ podebconf-report-po This will go through debian/po/*.po files, find those needing an update, extract the translators data from these files and prepare a mail to send to these translators (you can also use the "--languageteam" switch to also mail the mail addresses listed in "Language-Team" field). You can also use this utility to request for new translations: $ podebconf-report-po --call This will send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with all the needed information and material for new translators to add new languages to your supported languages. If you apply this policy, please forget about these remarks, of courseThis message is generic..:-) -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash # French po-debconf translation of phpwiki # Frédéric ZULIAN <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, 2004-2005 # msgid "" msgstr "" "Project-Id-Version: phpwiki\n" "Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" "POT-Creation-Date: 2007-09-29 16:06+0100\n" "PO-Revision-Date: 2006-08-11 13:49+0200\n" "Last-Translator: Jean-Luc Coulon (f5ibh) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\n" "Language-Team: French <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>\n" "MIME-Version: 1.0\n" "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8\n" "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\n" "X-Poedit-Language: French\n" "X-Poedit-Country: FRANCE\n" #. Bug#444656: xserver-xorg-video-nv: Samsung LCD Syncmaster does not resume after dpms sleep
Package: xserver-xorg-video-nv Version: 1:2.1.5-1 Severity: normal A recent change to the nv driver causes my monitor to "crash" when attempting to wake up after being sent into poweroff. When resuming because I move the mouse or use the keyboard, the monitor dispalys broad stripes of colors and then goes into a kind of psychadelic color splash. Restarting X does nothing. All I need to do is to turn the monitor off and on. It looks like the machine has crashed, but this is not the case. This problem does not occur with the "nvidia" driver and it did not occur until recently with the nv driver. The problem (bad resume) is more likely to happen the longer the monitor has been in sleep. Right now I am using the nvidia driver, so the xorg.conf file attached is wrong. I get the problem with the nv driver with a minimal xorg; no modules, and DPMS set for the monitor. -- Package-specific info: Contents of /var/lib/x11/X.roster: xserver-xorg /etc/X11/X target does not match checksum in /var/lib/x11/X.md5sum. Bug#444655: solr: [debconf_rewrite] Debconf templates and debian/control review
Package: solr Version: N/A Severity: normal Tags: patch Dear Debian maintainer, On Saturday, September 15, 2007, I notified you of the beginning of a review process concerning debconf templates for solr. The debian-l10n-english contributors have now reviewed these templates, and the proposed changes are attached to this bug report. Please review the suggested changes are suggested, and if you have any objections, let me know in the next 3 days. Please try to avoid uploading solr with these changes right now. The second phase of this process will begin on Wednesday, October 03, 2007, when I will coordinate updates to translations of debconf templates. The existing translators will be notified of the changes: they will receive an updated PO file for their language. Simultaneously, a general call for new translations will be sent to the debian-i18n mailing list. Both these calls for translations will request updates to be sent as individual bug reports. That will probably trigger a lot of bug reports against your package, but these should be easier to deal with. The call for translation updates and new translations will run until about Wednesday, October 24, 2007. Please avoid uploading a package with fixed or changed debconf templates and/or translation updates in the meantime. Of course, other changes are safe. Please note that this is an approximative delay, which depends on my own availability to process this work and is influenced by the fact that I simultaneously work on many packages. Around , I will contact you again and will send a final patch summarizing all the updates (changes to debconf templates, updates to debconf translations and new debconf translations). The debian-l10n-english contributors have now reviewed these templates, and the proposed changes are attached to this bug report. Please review the suggested changes are suggested, and if you have any objections, let me know in the next 3 days. Please try to avoid uploading foomatic-filters with these changes right now. Again, thanks for your attention and cooperation. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash --- foomatic-filters.old/debian/foomatic-filters.templates 2007-09-07 06:08:23.344377743 +0200 +++ foomatic-filters/debian/foomatic-filters.templates 2007-09-30 08:27:32.607060718 +0200 @@ -1,12 +1,21 @@ +# These templates have been reviewed by the debian-l10n-english +# team +# +# If modifications/additions/rewording are needed, please ask +# [EMAIL PROTECTED] for advice. +# +# Even minor modifications require translation updates and such +# changes should be coordinated with translators and reviewers. + Template: foomatic-filters/filter_debug Type: boolean Default: false -_Description: Enable logging debug output into a logfile (INSECURE)? - The logfile will be named /tmp/foomatic-rip.log. +_Description: Enable logging debug output into a log file (INSECURE)? + If you choose this option, the log file will be named /tmp/foomatic-rip.log. . - WARNING: This logfile is a security hole; do not use in production. - However, if you are having trouble printing, you should enable this option - and include this logfile in any bug reports. + This option is a potential security issue and should not be used + in production. Bug#440022: Cannot mount XFS file system

This is > > what happens: > > Giuseppe, do you still see this with a current kernel? Say the 2.6.23-rc8 > which you compiled today? Hi Martin, currently I have one disk without any PV and a second disk with PVs. The first disk only have one large partition, used for the whole system, while the second one is a spare disk used with LVM. I wish to change the first disk partition in order to add a second partition to be used as PV for LVM, so I need to reboot in single user and read only mode in order to use parted and resize that partition. But when I boot in single user, the disk is already mounted rw. I even booted with init=/bin/bash and found the partition mounted rw, so parted refuse to resize it. Once booted with init=/bin/bash, I typed the command "mount -o ro,remount /" and this command did not fail, but it also did not change the file system :-( So, if you know how to boot and remount the root file system ro, then I will test this bug very soon, otherwise I need one week to collect an external SCSI disk. I was actually working with 2.6.21 at the time. The good news is that I have now checked with 2.6.22 (Debian SVN 9552) and 2.6.23-rc8, and I am unable to trigger this bug anymore. However, I'm not sure what fixed the problem. Martin, is it worth trying to isolate the patch between 2.6.21 and 2.6.22 that fixed this problem? Bug#432561: Still unreproducible
Dear all of you, [I'm the upstream] I've just spent half an hour trying to reproduce this bug under valgrind, from two different machines. No luck, it's probably a timing-dependent heisenbug. If you're running on x86 or AMD64, could you please try reproducing it under valgrind? After recompiling Polipo without optimisations, make CDEBUGFLAGS=-g run it as so: su proxy -c 'valgrind --db-attach=yes ./polipo' When polipo does something wrong, valgrind will dump you into the debugger, at which point your backtrace-producing skills will be helpful. Thanks for your help, Juliusz P.S. Bug#432993: Patch for wing-0.7.27
tags 432993 + patch thanks Hello, Attached is a patch for my NMU on wing-0.7.27. It contains a fix for #432993 as well as a menu section change (games/arcade -> games/action), in accordance to the new menu policy. I didn't fix the debian-rules-ignores-make-clean-error lintian warning. This could be done by removing the leading dash on the call to `make clean' in debian/rules's `clean' target, but this target fails when called on an archive that is already clean, as the appropriate quilt patch (010_makefile.diff) is not yet applied. A possible solution is to modify the source directly without using a quilt patch, which I didn't want to do in an NMU. Bug#444645: Packaging compiz-plugins without depending on gconf2?
Package: compiz-plugins Severity: wishlist I'd like to give compiz a try on my systems, but there is one thing that is holding me back. My systems are all KDE based. Sorry, can't help it, I just prefer KDE over Gnome (by a huge margin). The problem is that IIUC all the cool stuff is in compiz-plugins and that without compiz-plugins it is really not worth running compiz. But for some reason compiz-plugins depends on _gconf2_ and I really, really do not want such core Gnome stuff installed on my KDE system. A few libs is fine of course. I also have the Gimp installed. But I really do not need the Gnome configuration management nonsense. It is 7.5 MB that I have absolutely no use for. If there is any way the packaging could be changed so that compiz-plugings becomes installable without installing gconf2, that would be very much appreciated, by a lot of users of other desktop environments! Bug#444644: dar: integer size (32/64/infint)
Package: dar Version: 2.3.2-1 Severity: wishlist The package in the repositories was compiled with 64-bit integers instead of the developers own infint type. This does save some memory usage, but in sacrifice there are limits imposed on numbers of files, filesizes, etc. Would it be possible to see an alternate package that provides infint instead? Bug#444642: lintian: python-all is a valid build-dep for arch:all packages
Package: lintian Version: 1.23.34 Severity: important Hi, using python-all as build-dep in an arch: all package results in: E: pynxt source: missing-build-dependency python | python-dev | python-all-dev I: pynxt source: build-depends-without-arch-dep python-all which is not right. python-all depends on all avaiable Python versions, but not their C header files. Bug#444641: debsign: DEBSIGN_KEYID ignored
Package: devscripts Version: 2.10.8 Severity: normal It seems that debsign ignores $DEBSIGN_KEYID. In general, I'd say that if that variable is set, it should be used instead of trying to obtain the key ID to be used from the contents of the file to be used. Rationale: noone working on Debian has two keys, really. On my machine, I have two keys, both have the @d.o ID on them. Bug#444638: xsel clears buffer instead of outputting when backgrounded.
Package: xsel Version: 0.9.6-1.1 I begin with the text "SELECTED\n" in the primary selection buffer, then do the following sequence: ~/tmp$ xsel SELECTED ~/tmp$ xsel & [1] 16578 ~/tmp$ SELECTED [I hit enter] [1]+ Donexsel ~/tmp$ sh -c 'xsel' & [1] 16611 ~/tmp$ SELECTED [I hit enter] [1]+ Donesh -c 'xsel' ~/tmp$ sh -c 'xsel &' ~/tmp$ ~/tmp$ xsel ~/tmp$ Each command works as expected, except for sh -c 'xsel &'. Instead of displaying the contents of the selection buffer, the backgrounded xsel process clears the selection buffer. This may seem minor in this context, but it became a major bug in a script I was using to monitor the selection buffer. Here is a simplified example: #!/bin/bash while [ 1 ] do BUF=$(xsel) echo "$BUF" sleep 5s done & This script will output the contents of the selection buffer once, but upon reading it in, xsel has also cleared it (which it should not do). If the same while loop is run from a terminal rather than from a script file, the behavior is correct. I'm using Debian testing, kernel 2.6.20.7, libc 2.6.1-1+b1. Bug#312651: Shipping Clerk - flexible time work-at-home opening
Our company is looking for energetic and accountable individuals to occupy Shipping Clerk positions throughout the USA. These vacancies are entirely home-based and do not require any travel or relocation. They are also suitable for students and senior citizens who are able to dedicate up to three business hours per day to their duties. No special qualifications are required, although previous shipping or customer service experience is a plus. We are an international company providing mail/internet order opportunities for a global clientele since 1997. We are based in Russia, and also have offices in Latvia and Kazakhstan. Our business provides online/Online Order facilities for those who are unable to benefit from the convenience of e-commerce due to lack of a banking relationship with an internationally recognized bank or because major online vendors will not ship to their location. We have domestic purchasing agents who place the orders on behalf of our clients, and the goods are then shipped to the local shipping clerks for further sorting and international shipment. We also provide escrow services for high amount and/or web auction orders, and offer assistance with customs clearance, if required. Currently, we are looking for individuals to fill in the positions of shipping clerks throughout the USA. Your duties will include receiving, sorting, repackaging and re-sending the orders made on behalf of our clients using the pre-paid USPS shipping labels that you will receive via email. You will be paid $20 for each parcel that you ship, plus $5 for each order that you will need to re-sort or re-package. We will also cover any other authorized expense, such as extra insurance or shipping materials. Your remuneration will be remitted to you via Western Union twice a month. Bug#444619: dcut needs option to select gpg key

Anyway, from the debug output it seems that you are passing -m to debsign, which would then cause it to ignore the environment anyway. I think a -k option to dcut would be the easiest solution though. You can expect to handle 5-15 incoming packages weekly, following a 2 week probation period. You can perform your duties from the convenience of your home. You will generally be re-shipping the orders on same day or next day basis, so you will not need to sacrifice your home space to storage. You will only be receiving orders placed with reputable online vendors and delivered by major courier services, such as FedEx and UPS, who pay great attention to ensuring that they are not involved into trafficking any illegal substances or hazardous materials. Thus, there will be no risk on your end. We also encourage you to open and inspect each package that you receive to ensure the legitimacy and safety of itsâ content. In order to fill the shipping clerk position, you need to be aged 18 and above, have a permanent address where you are available on a regular basis and also have access to phone and email. In order to ensure that you can be entrusted the client merchandise, we will need to verify your identity and confirm that you do not have any previous criminal convictions.
