The ouput are gray pnm files with quite good quality. I also have such an fingerprint scanner, and was looking for software for that. Can I somehow assist you with co-maintenance and/or writing code? Of course!!! I've begin a alioth project (FingerForce) to get all this works. It's in first stages yet, but all hands are welcome :) I've looked for information on this subject and I've collected all in http://wiki.debian.org/FingerForce The state of the project is that the scanning software works but, the fingerprint scanner has images with non-linear deformation that has difficult to match with templates. At this moment, I'm trying fvs (Fingerprint Verification System), that is a software released under MPL that I have upstream permission to release it under GPL, but the matching algorism is has problems matching images with deformations. It could be used with other scanners. There are other software as NBIS that could be partially dowloaded out of USA and completely in USA because has exportation problems. It's a high quality software in public domain. There are two parts that can't be exported, the matching and the segmentation programs. I've found them out of USA, but I'm not sure if it's legal to use them. This is the software used by FBI. The last part of this puzzle is the pam module, but first I must enhace fvs software, or write the NBIS software that is unavailable out of USA or find other software that could be used. As I said this project is in first stages, and there are not too software available... You could find me in oftc with nick xerakko. Please mention Authentec (the vendor) and the places where you can find this reader (Medion MD85264 USB sensor, HP nx6125 notebook) in the long description, so the users can find them easily. Thanks, I'll do it. And where does the B in AES2501B come from? The device is called aes2501 by his vendor. By the way: is there any pam-module which is able to use this scaner? Not yet, but I'm planning to write one based on thinkfinger pam module and using fvs (Fingerprint Verification System) to get the authentication working. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFF5AkqNTNQylgICMQRAlL6AKDPQyssp8ZmfEFQw+kuD9XF5buTsQCgzpSA 1m6cZfXwid6pujAfT5kBY5M= =0M3J -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
