Thanks for the links and sorry for the belated reply. I got distracted by
other tasks since the beginning of September. I will upload your package
soon.

Thanks, Rafael!

Good question. There was a discussion of the draft of OFL 1.1 here:

 http://people.debian.org/~terpstra/thread/20061221.004357.b55623ff.en.html

and after the 1.1 release, more disussion:

 http://people.debian.org/~terpstra/thread/20070228.063718.83da0199.en.html

The only caveat i've heard from folks is that Reserved Font Names
other than prior names of the font seem non-DFSG-free. since i've got
no Reserved Font Names other than the original name, i don't think
that's an issue.

Furthermore, the ftp-masters seem OK with it: the gentium package is
already in main, under the OFL:

[0 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ grep 'Open Font License'
/usr/share/doc/ttf-sil-gentium/copyright
This Font Software is licensed under the SIL Open Font License,
The goals of the Open Font License (OFL) are to stimulate worldwide
[0 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ apt-cache policy ttf-sil-gentium
ttf-sil-gentium:
  Installed: 1.02+dfsg-4
  Candidate: 1.02+dfsg-4
  Version table:
 *** 1.02+dfsg-4 0
500 http://ftp.debian.org testing/main Packages
200 http://ftp.debian.org unstable/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
[0 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$

as well as other font packages, i think, such as charis and doulos:

http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/t/ttf-sil-charis/ttf-sil-charis_4.100-1/ttf-sil-charis.copyright

http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/t/ttf-sil-doulos/ttf-sil-doulos_4.100-1/ttf-sil-doulos.copyright

Let me know if you've got more questions about it.

Thanks for your interest and your help.

Yes, I will gladly upload your package. Just one question:

In the SIL website [1], it is claimed that OFL is DFSG-compliant. Do you
know of any public discussion (in debian-legal, for instance) about this?

Thanks for the report. I've built a new version of the package which
creates the proper link via the defoma-hints file. But upon
installation of the new package, the bad symlink remained (though the
good symlink is there too).

I then purged the new package, removed the bad symlink by hand, and
re-installed 0.11-1 -- and it didn't create the bad symlink at all.
Then upgrading to the new package created the proper 4th symlink, with
nothing left over.

Weird.

At any rate, i've published a new version of the font that fixes this
problem at the apt repository i'm using for it:

  deb http://cmrg.fifthhorseman.net/debian unstable fonts
  deb-src http://cmrg.fifthhorseman.net/debian unstable fonts

note that the repo is signed by my GPG key, ID D21739E9 (this key is
new as of June of this year [0]).

As i'm not a DD, i'll need to have someone else upload it for me.
Rafael, you uploaded the package originally. Would you upload this
one? (Note that the repo location has changed also; i've consolidated
a bunch of my debian packages into a single repo with different
components for easier maintenance).

The latest available version (0.12-2) also includes a new upstream
change: the font has been relicensed under the OFL version 1.1.

Package: ttf-fifthhorseman-dkg-handwriting
Version: 0.11-1

After install the package this symbolic link is created:
/var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType/dkgBdIt.ttf
that points to:
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/fifthhorseman/dkgBdIt.ttf
but it should point to:
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/fifthhorseman/dkgBI.ttf

Thanks for packing fonts!!!
