Bug#519220: dkimproxy: It should not be neseccary to edit the startup script for, confirguration

2009-04-26 Thread Dominik George
I'm not so sure what options from the command-line override what options
from the configuration file.

I htink that dkimproxy should either completely rely on the
configuration in /etc/dkimproxy or have a file in /etc/default/dkimproxy .

The most annoying thing is that the path to the private key is
'hard-coded' in the init script. I have a CAcert key in /etc/ssl/private
and would like to use that - I have to edit the init script for that ...

Bug#519220: dkimproxy: It should not be neseccary to edit the startup script for confirguration

2009-03-10 Thread Kim N. Lesmer
Package: dkimproxy
Version: 1.0.1-8.1
Severity: normal

In the outbound configuration file it says that the domain part is fixed in the
startup script and
that if it the user needs to manually enter a domain he should disable that
part in the startup
script.

This is NOT the Debian way of configurating packages. Whatever the user needs
to be able to edit,
must reside in the /etc/packagename/ directory, and it should never be needed
to change the startup
script.

The correct way would be to remove the settings from the startup script, and
then force the user to
provide the correct domain(s).

Also if the user needs DKIMproxy to sign outbound emails for more than one
domain he is forced to
change the startup script.

I have not submitted a patch for this, since there seems to be several issues
that needs to be
resolved correctly.

Best regards.
