I feel tempted :) Maybe I wait a day or two whether you encounter a show stopper. Thanks, -- Martin

I don´t think I have this issue here. So or so… without a lot more details about your setup like graphics card, graphics driver, kernel, mesa version, compositing settings and so on, there is nothing more I or I think someone else can say about it. Hi, just upgrade to qt5.9, frameworks 5.37 and plasma 5.10, upgrade was smooth, no problem. Logged in again, everything seem to be ok so far. Kde window manager is still in 5.8.7 version Thanks for packages, Libor On pondělí 28. srpna 2017 18:36:55 CEST Martin Steigerwald wrote: > Hello. > > Maxy started uploading Plasma 5.10 to experimental. I've been noticing kwin_x11 has been eating just a tiny bit more CPU than previously, enough to get my CPU fan running pretty much constantly. No, I checked this the first day I saw it. The only font these programs load is SegoeUI, the only one I have selected in KDE. As experiment, I configured KDE to use bold SegoeUI, and it displays perfect everywhere, including the places where it is rendered wrong now. I think those text widgets has a particular setting that makes the font rendering broken under Qt 5.9.1, but this is only my guess.

Maybe something like "lsof | egrep '.ttf|.otf'" would enable you to spot usage in the picker of a font style that is bold by default, and changing your configured fonts or uninstalling that font would solve this. What fonts are configured in KDE's font settings? Note that QT5 inexplicably does not enable a font selection dialog that ever offers bold: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-57736 -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Plasma 5.10 and KF 5.37
Hello. Maxy started uploading Plasma 5.10 to experimental. KF 5.37 appears to be almost done. This is still for build and other testing… but I bet it won´t take all that long anymore… and our Sid systems should be pretty up-to-date again. Aim of Qt/KDE debian/ubuntu team is to remove Qt4 dependency til next release (buster). Its a challenging task however. Thanks, -- Martin
Some fonts rendered incorrectly since upgrade to Qt 5.9.1
Hello. Since the last upgrade in Sid to Qt 5.9.1 I have noticed some fonts rendered incorrectly in Qt applications, like Dolphin, VLC and some other ones. The rendered font seems to be some bolded text, but it is rendered broken, see attached image. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Martin, so I removed this package. Additionally the package is not in unstable anymore, so I bet it is not needed anymore. Thanks, -- Martin
