So with that the Plasma update is complete. I am still very happy. It all works just nicely. On my work session I had it that baloo was not enabled for a reason although it was enabled before the upgrade, but after enabling it it worked again just nicely. Thanks, -- Martin

Hi, this upgrade let to some smaller but annoying issues ... KF5 applications now ignore any other widget style except for the space wasting breeze/breeze dark - though applications with qt4/kde4 libs dependencies like konqueror are not affected. Used to display window titles with the bold font variants - but now those titles are displayed larger but not bold at all. (I guess with a different font too) AND - in kdevelop/kate/kwrite the ability to highlight constants or the like with bold fonts has been lost - the color settings are still respected, but the bold attribute has no effect anymore ... ... sadly

Global shortcut is assigned to component "media control" . I don't know, whether this changed during upgrade. Yes, I realize, that amarok is old and probably will be removed, because of QT4 removal. Plasma is a bit more tricky. You need to update plasma-desktop, plasma-workspace and dependencies. I personally check for left over packages by dpkg -l | grep and the any one of the version numbers 5.8.5, 5.8.6, 5.8.7 for Plasma, and 5.28, 5.27 (didn´t find any) for KDE Frameworks. There are automatic ways to do it, I prefer to do it manually tough as I well more in control. With KDE Frameworks quite some qml packages are not upgraded automatically to 5.37 with the command you mentioned. Thats pitfal of experimental. Thanks, -- Martin
