As the bug is RC it is enough to install apt-listbugs.

Updated kwin is available. So with that the Plasma update is complete.

I am still very happy. It all works just nicely.

On my work session I had it that baloo was not enabled for a reason although
it was enabled before the upgrade, but after enabling it it worked again just
nicely.

Hi,

this upgrade let to some smaller but annoying issues ...

KF5 applications now ignore any other widget style

except for the space wasting breeze/breeze dark -

though applications with qt4/kde4 libs dependencies

like konqueror are not affected.

Used to display window titles with the bold font variants -

but now those titles are displayed larger but not bold at all.

(I guess with a different font too)

AND - in kdevelop/kate/kwrite the ability to highlight constants

or the like with bold fonts has been lost - the color settings are

still respected, but the bold attribute has no effect anymore ...

... sadly

Yes, i have HW buttons on my external keyboard @ work, also FN+some key on my
Dell laptop.
Both are recognized as "Media Play" button

See screenshot:
https://download.bcom.cz/kde/Screenshot_20170829_142148.png
"Přehrát/pozastavit" is "Play/Pause"

https://download.bcom.cz/kde/Screenshot_20170829_142202.png
"Ovládání medii" is "Media control"

(sorry it's in czech language even after launching systemsettings5 with LANG=C
+ selecting english in help menu)

This is how it works. After assigning "Media play" directly to Amarok.

It works after assigning those keys directly to Amarok global shortcuts.

It also works from new media control buttons on lock screen, great.

media controls in system tray.

I do hope upstream developers manage to finalize a Qt5 versions… but it seems
they need help.

KDE Applications 17.08… will likely be something Maxy / Qt/KDE debian team
prepares next. But Amarok is separate from that anyway.

First problem:
Amarok stoped to react on play/pause,next,prev buttons.
Global shortcut is assigned to component "media control" .
I don't know, whether this changed during upgrade.
Yes, I realize, that amarok is old and probably will be removed, because of

Preferably first report things regarding experimental packages here on the
list… and only report bugs after feedback. That saves unnecessary work for the

Yeah, that is just what I wrote.

It won´t be upgraded automatically by either

apt install -t experimental plasma-nm

or

apt install -t experimental plasma-desktop plasma-workspace

tough.

That is just the frameworks. Plasma is a bit more tricky.

You need to update plasma-desktop, plasma-workspace and dependencies.

I personally check for left over packages by dpkg -l | grep and the any one of
the version numbers 5.8.5, 5.8.6, 5.8.7 for Plasma, and 5.28, 5.27 (didn´t find
any) for KDE Frameworks. There are automatic ways to do it, I prefer to do it
manually tough as I well more in control.

With KDE Frameworks quite some qml packages are not upgraded automatically to
5.37 with the command you mentioned.

Thats pitfal of experimental.

This is a happy, happy day for me:

One of the most annoying krunner bugs of all times fixed. I just verified it
after I noticed the comment about the fix in the bug report some time ago

krunner won´t run the entry under the mouse pointer anymore if you use it with

There is no newer version available in the archive right now:
