[Bug 520118] Re: thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode)
Dear Lionel I'm very aware what a ppa is, I have compiled and made mods to at least 3 packages for personal use (e.g. gEDA pcb), and that you risk, when installing stuff from ppa's with large dependencies to get rid of a bug and get involved with 1 new bugs... and yes, I saw some minor side effects, but up to now, no worries. Even orage is working. -- thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/520118 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 520118] Re: thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode)
Hi Lionel, your fix is working pristine. Thankfully, because pcmanfm is dangerously unstable, gave me the creeps after I saw the consequences of some file copies and arguments passed on directories with spaces...I prefer the terminal... For those eager to get rid of the annoying bug without going through the terminal, catching up with Lionel's work: go to "system" "software sources" "other software" "add" ppa:xubuntu-dev/ppa and then: ppa:mrpouit/ppa and close. Sources will rebuld and close. Then go to "system" "update manager" , the new packages should be there. Une fois de plus, merci! [Bug 520118] Re: thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode)
Sorry for my disagreement and for being a little sarcastic, for 3 reasons: 1. Users are comparing a methodology to escape the bug while it exists. I don't give a damn about the bug now, thanks to the tips I found here about pcmanfm2 (I do prefer tabbed browsing anyway). 2. Users are describing behavior in their own systems, which is important in order that the bug is fixed, there may be variations. 3. If nobody complains, there is no stress to correct the bloody bug, and efforts can be directed elsewhere. So a little noise is probably beneficial. I won't bother you no more Thanks everybody -- thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/520118 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

This is a must-fix, I have to say that pcmanfm has the same behavior, either in the standard or nohal flavours in my system, libfm is not installed in my implementation, there is no fix for this in xubuntu lucid amd64.
