[Bug 236080] Re: Evolution Crashes on Startup
Hi Pedro - thanks for replying both sides. I'm not sure if its better to have a bug report open on Launchpad and Bugzilla - perhaps you can provide some guidance with that. For completeness the stack trace I posted on Bugzilla is: Thread 6 (Thread 0x42a03950 (LWP 7832)): #0 0x7f05dd135d07 in fsync () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 #1 0x7f05dea46fcf in camel_folder_summary_save () from /usr/lib/libcamel-provider-1.2.so.11 #2 0x7f05cb1d368e in camel_exchange_folder_construct () from /usr/lib/evolution-data-server-1.2/camel-providers/libcamelexchange.so #3 0x7f05cb1d7fd8 in ?? [Bug 237619] [NEW] Unable to retrieve message Cannot get message: `?? from folder ... No such message
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I have a filters set up to move mails from my Exchange account to the local mailbox. When a mail arrives the filter works, the mail gets copied into the correct location. If that message is the last message in that folder it won't fully delete. A line appears through the subject / sender etc as it should be deleting but it stays like that. If I move to another folder then back to that folder the mail has disappeared from the list but there is an error: Unable to retrieve message Cannot get message: `?? from folder /home/darrenm/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox.sbd/Folder No such message I have checked the filesystem and used the backup and restore function. Still the same. I have attached the CAMEL_DEBUG=all log. Thanks ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Unable to retrieve message Cannot get message: `?? from folder ... [Bug 31511] Re: Settings lost during an upgrade
My screensaver settings were lost as well. Breezy - Dapper upgraded through dist-upgrade 10 minutes ago...Note that mid-install, I noticed that it paused because it said that configuration files were changed... (didn't write down which ones, although I should have). I chose the packager's data, so this was expected, but I can imagine that this option should be handled slightly differently. -- Settings lost during an upgrade https://launchpad.net/bugs/31511 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 38181] Re: Screensaver freezes on Dapper (ATI Radeon 8500 LE)
ATI Radeon 8500. slightly different - but similar. I see 2D and 3D screensavers without an issue (other than the fact that the resolution is horribly low because of the slow GPU). Breezy - Dapper dist-upgrade using US sources today. -- Screensaver freezes on Dapper (ATI Radeon 8500 LE) https://launchpad.net/bugs/38181 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 601056] Re: Gnome-panel elements (main menu, launchers) disappear or become white after resume
Affecting me too (ubuntu 10.04) I'm fairly sure it wasn't happening a month or two ago, so perhaps it is being triggered by some icon I've added. After a normal resume the icons are a bit slow in coming up, 5-10 seconds. However if I suspend, unplug the network cable, then later resume without the network: it will sit there without icons and unresponsive for ages. I've now started killing it as soon as it happens, then after 10-30 seconds a new working panel comes up. I wonder if it is related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /gnome-panel/+bug/418881 where they suggest a remote location icon might be the cause. If so, to echo that poster's comments, how to find out the problem icon, and how to shorten the timeout? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/601056 Title: Gnome-panel elements (main menu, launchers) disappear or become white after resume -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 129105] Panel applets don't load on subsequent login
Public bug reported: [I seem to be suffering the effects of LP bug #112558, but found no way to reopen that bug, so reporting again] When I first log into gnome, all of my applets will load. But on subsequent logouts / logins, many of these applets refuse to load. The applets I use are: * OnTV * Tomboy notes * Weather report * Mixer applet * Music applet * Multiload applet * Trash applet Strangely some other applets load on subsequent logins without problem. Some other applets seem to load without issue. They are: * Separator applet * Show desktop applet * Notification area Launcher icons aren't affected either. [Bug 117011] Gnome-mount will only mount encrypted partitions and not drives created with cryptsetup/luks
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gnome-mount Please describe the problem: When I create a luks encrypted drive, for example /dev/sdc I cannot mount it via gnome-mount but it does mount via pmount and by hand (cryptsetup luksOpen etc...) Gnome-mount evidently opens the luks encrypted container since I see the mapper created however it is not mounted. The only error I see is an unknown partition message when tailing /var/log/messages. Gnome-mount DOES work when I mount an encrypted partition (/dev/sdc1) even if that partition is of the whole drive. This has only been tested on USB drives. Steps to reproduce: 1. Use cryptsetup to create a luks encrypted volume on an entire usb drive 2. insert the drive 3. I don't know how to get the wireless icon up there if you don't have a wireless card, but I think this is definitely an artwork related bug. I found the problem icons and for each one when I right clicked them nautilus could not read the image size information. It should read them as 24x24. I noticed this a few days ago when I was downloading the Elephants Dream movie from http://orange.blender.org/download. I opened a Nautilus window and noticed that the file did not seem to update its file size, despite the fact that I could see output of curl showing that the movie was indeed being downloaded. @Matthias Heiler: 1. Download the Thawte root CA file by going here: http://www.thawte.com/roots/index.html you can fill out bogus information. I did :-) 2. From Evolution / Preferences / Certificates / Authorities, import a new cert file. Use the Thawte Server Roots / ThawtePremiumServerCA.cer file. This file has an MD5 hash of 069f6979166690021b8c8ca2c3076f3a I believe Mikel Ward has this problem well described and I repeat the gist of his comments: a. Evolution should not say a certificate is BAD when the problem is simply that it cannot verify the certificate because it does not recognize the Issuer as trusted. It should say UNKNOWN ISSUER, UNTRUSTED ISSUER, or something similar. BAD implied it failed some integrity check. b. I also agree Evolution ought to be using an existing trusted certificate database. Certificate validation ought to be primarily an OS function, not an application function. If Evolution wants to keep user mail certs, that is fine. But when you go around sticking root CA's in a user app, that seems a little screwy to me. -- warnings about bad SSL certificate when viewing mail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/19065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 298072] Re: No thumbnails for some file types on network shares
I'm also having this problem, so I can try to add an example/screenshot and some more info. In the screenshot, item #1 is the example file in a VNC window of the server itself, item #2 is the same file in a Nautilus window on the client, and item #3 is the result of dragging the file from the Nautilus window to the client desktop. Some other relevant info: 1) This example file was created on the server, but the problem also occurs when files created elsewhere are copied to the server. 2) Files created on the client then copied over work fine. Also, if I were to copy the example file on the client desktop back to the network share, the thumbnail information would persist. 3) Nautilus is definitely trying to generate thumbnails. It will take a while to process folders with large amounts of files and everything will work properly except PDF/CBR files (as far as I've seen). 4) My server is running OpenSolaris 2008.11 and sharing through Samba via ZFS. Client is Linux Mint 6.0 with Nautilus 2.24.1. Problem is reproducible with Ubuntu Intrepid live CD. You could be correct. What's described at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings- daemon/+bug/640807/comments/2 as a workaround seems consistent with my none-too-scientific findings (i.e. disconnect a monitor to make GDM display the login window). I also attempted some of the things mentioned by other people that have made comments (such as disabling mode settings on my 965G, editing GDM configuration files) without much luck. To fix this, I did: sudo apt-get install policykit-gnome and then followed the same steps above, but this time was prompted for my password at step 4 and, upon successfully entering my password, everything worked. I would suggest that in dual-monitor situations (or maybe always?) the policykit-gnome libraries are required?
