Getting b43-fwcutter from software center didn't work; so I tried the no internet access method and got the *.deb package from a 10.04 cd. This didn't work either so after hours on #ubuntu IRC i found another *.deb package; which accepted the propreiatery firmware from broadcom. even after installing linux-firmware-nonfree and firmware-b43-installer It was still not getting all firmware that was needed.
