[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1433288] Re: Nautilus fails when moving files from a smb share to another:
** Changed in: nautilus Status: Unknown => Expired ** Changed in: nautilus Importance: Unknown => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1433288 Title: Nautilus fails when moving files from a smb share to another: Status in Nautilus: Expired Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I'm trying to move a file from one smb share (with underlying ntfs filesystem) to another smb share (with underlying ext4 filesystem) by cutting (ctrl+x) and pasting (ctrl+v). [I mentioned the underlying filesystems but it actually doesn't matter. moving from ext4 share to another ext4 share doesn't work too.] Nautilus gives me an "Error while moving."-message and describes it with "There was an error reading the folder [...].“. "Show more details" tells me "No such file or directory". I click cancel and Nautilus creates a folder (sic!) with the exact name as the file i want to move. So if i try to move the file "foo.baz" it creates the _folder_ "foo.baz" in my target smb share. Copying files works without any problems as far as i can see. On my virtualbox win7 moving works flawlessly. So I think it is a problem in nautilus. And i think this problem occures for about 4 weeks now. Bug probably came with an update. smb log tells me nothing. samba server is Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS OS with samba package version 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.7. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1433288] Re: Nautilus fails when moving files from a smb share to another:
I remarked now that moving in the same share works without a problem.
