Is it similar (albeit much simpler) to what I describe in

i.e., you get an error but you can then restart OpenOffice 4 and
everything works as expected? On that case, this doesn't sound
particularly problematic and it's already covered in the Release Notes.

Request for review build.pl.

2013-08-04 Thread janI
Hi.

I have taken a very deep breath and added a new option to build.pl

if you run
   build --all --genPO

dmake will not (as usual be called without parameters), but as "dmake
genPO". I need this to let the makefiles extract all texts from the source
files.

I have little experience with perl, so I hope someone can do a review
please.

I have committed the change in branch l1040 as R1510342.

Look forward to hear comments (or get changes).

AOO Bugzilla Bug 122948 (Rev. Update) - Copy/pasting some Punjabi strings AOO 4.0.0 crashes, Writer 3.4.1 works correctly

Dear AOO 4.0.0 workers,

*where may I get a fix or update??*(History of emails below)

I noticed *another bug*(?). Leaving my open AOO 4.0.0 files with
("File/Quit", German "Datei/Beenden") crashes AOO 4.0.0 too, probably
with regard to files with those problematic strings, which may be
harmless if untouched. Files may be closed with the "Close X" if without
those strings, else AOO 4.0.0 crashes. That is, all my files were listed
in the reconstruction job.

*
Another bug*: When accidentally copying

the spaces for clicking for Twitter, Facebook, or "likes share Google" =>
*pasting (**CTRL V**) will do, but killing/ removing this part crashes*.

review requested: [Bug 122600] [SVG] problems in SvgSvgNode : [Attachment 81247] Patch to solve several errors with svgsvgnode

2013-08-04 Thread bugzilla
Regina Henschel has asked Armin Le Grand
 for review:
Bug 122600: [SVG] problems in SvgSvgNode
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122600

Attachment 81247: Patch to solve several errors with svgsvgnode
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=81247&action=edit

--- Additional Comments from Regina Henschel
The patch assumes, that the internal mpViewBox has the parameter meaning
x1,y1,x2,y2 and therefore converts the svg meaning x,y,width, height
accordingly.

The patch effects only svgio.

The patch corrects several bugs and shortcomings in svgsvgnode. Find some test
documents in the linked issues.

The patch corrects in addition the wrong number type of radius for circle and
ellipse.

The patch is large. I suggest to discuss any questions and remarks on the
dev-mailing list.

[L10N Download Websites] Deleting old JavaScript files that are no longer necessary

2013-08-04 Thread Marcus (OOo)

Hi webmasters,

I'm planning to remove old JavaScript files that are remains from older
times. Furthermore they are no longer working and necessary:

.../download/download_bouncer.js
.../download/download_improved.js
.../download/download_mirrorbrain.js
.../download/download_mirrorbrain_improved.js
.../download/globalvars_improved.js
.../download/languages_improved.js

When your language has a specific download area (like it is with
"http://www.openoffice.org/download/";), then make sure you don't use
these files anymore.

When you still use them, then I guess that the script logic is not
working already since a longer time and needs to be reviewed anyway. The
first step would be to use the new files:

.../download/download.js
.../download/globalvars.js
.../download/languages.js

I would like to do the removal of the old files at the end of next week.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Marcus

It seems that this "similar blather" is PUNJABI, a language spoken by over 100
million of native speakers...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punjabi_language
even further, it is listed top-ten in wikipedia's "List of languages by number

not bad at all for a "squiggle", huh?

What I mean is that you should be more respectful when writing to this list
about other people's cultures.
You're not alone in this wide world ;)

AOO Bugzilla Bug 122948 - Copy/pasting some Punjabi strings AOO 4.0.0 crashes, Writer 3.4.1 works correctly

2013-08-04 Thread Robert Hupp

Example:

http://www.arte.tv/guide/de/045740-003/unterwegs-auf-dem-nordseekuestenradweg-3-5

(the one before Polski).

Copy & pasting that piece is enough to crash AOO 4.0 Writer or Impress,
while Calc works fine if pasting not in "edit mode" (i.e. not pasting in
the formula bar, pasting in the bar results in a crash as well). HTH.

RE: OpenOffice Writer 4.0.0 crashes, Writer 3.4.1 works correctly

2013-08-04 Thread Maurice Howe
What is the squiggle at the end of:
===> Trying with smaller chunks, the problematic text seems to be: ਪੰਜਾਬੀ <===
??
And if I click the wikipedia line, the whole screen fills with similar blather.
Google 'translate' throws up it's hands...

Reproduced here with freshly-installed en-US on Windows 7 - I paste the text,
the Windows "OpenOffice 4.0.0 has stopped working" comes up.
Behaves correctly in LO 4.1.0.4. Is there a bug report yet?

Re: OpenOffice Writer 4.0.0 crashes, Writer 3.4.1 works correctly

2013-08-04 Thread Joost Andrae

Hi,

when connecting to the application by windbg the crash seems to happen
in i18npool.uno.dll. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any symbols to
give more details.

Pasted from the menu and with ctrl+v => crash.
Trying with smaller chunks, the problematic text seems to be: ਪੰਜਾਬੀ

Thanks for the detailed analysis. Seems Windows-specific. Reported as
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122948
follow up there.

Kind regards, Joost
