Re: [jira] Commented: (QPID-24) Extend Qpid transaction functionality to support distributed transactions (JTA)

2010-10-20 Thread Robert Godfrey
The Java Broker does not currently support XA transactions. You can
use the Java client with the C++ Broker where XA transactions should
be supported.

I don't believe anyone is currently working on implementing XA in the
Java Broker, but if anyone wants to help out, all contributions are
welcome.

Hope this helps,
Rob

 Hi,

I am using QPID for jms. My application is in Java. I have seen QPID
java broker does not support Global transaction (XA). When I checked
that issue in qpid-dev site, it is logged on 30/Oct/08 and after that
there is no update on the same. So I would like to know, whether qpid
java broker supports distributed transaction (XA) now. If yes please
mention the qpid version number and if possible the XA supported
 connectionFactory class name also.

Can we note this one the website, and then Apache will link it from the
ApacheCon

home page.

Jonathan, is that something you can do?

[jira] Commented: (QPID-1672) Inter-broker links need full SASL support

Nominally qpidclient fails with
  .\qpid\client\windows\SaslFactory.cpp(22) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open
include file: 'qpid/client/SaslFactory.h': No such file or directory

but there are probably larger issues as well. Moving the windows qpid/client
sasl up into qpid needs the same attention that non-windows got.

[C++] The HeadersExchange does not support federation
 -

 Key: QPID-2348
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-2348
 Project: Qpid
  Issue Type: Improvement
  Components: C++ Broker
Affects Versions: 0.6
 Environment: all environments
Reporter: Sam Joyce
Assignee: Jonathan Robie
Priority: Minor
 Fix For: 0.7

 Attachments: fed_headers_exchange-2010-01-27.patch

   Original Estimate: 0h
  Remaining Estimate: 0h

 (from Ted Ross)
Currently broker federation only deals with binding keys. Both dynamic and
static federation do not support exchanges which use argument-map data in
 their
bindings (i.e. XML, Headers, unknown future extension exchange).
Support for static federation with arguments needs to be added.
Support for dynamic federation that propagates bindings with arguments needs
 to
 be added.
 (from Sam Joyce)
This bug actually breaks down into 4 separate tasks:
 1) Allow the exchange to accept dynamic bindings
 2) Allow the exchange to be used by the qpid-route tool to create dynamic
 routes
 3) propagate bind and unbind requests to federated peers
 4) support reOrigin requests in the event the things get into a bit of a flap
 (flap being a technical term :) )

Re: Build issue with 0.6

 Hi,

I am trying to package qpid in the openSUSE build service and am trying
to enable XML Exchange. Therefore I have already created an xqilla
package. I am using xqilla version 2.2.4.

Upon build the following build error is triggered:

qpid/xml/XmlExchange.cpp:182: error: 'class ResultImpl' has no member
 named 'getEffectiveBooleanValue'

I suppose this existed in a previous version of XQilla. Attached is the
 .i file

Since I am not familiar with XQilla I have no idea what a possible fix
 could be.

One more thing I forgot to note. There is now an EffectiveBooleanValue
class, I suppose that would in some way take the place of the previous call.

Robert

 Help is appreciated.

 Thanks,
 Robert
