[slim] Can't stream anything
Tried to stream some music just now with my Boom or squeezeplay, from either Last.fm, BBCIplayer or Napster and none of them will connect. Everything seems to be working ok, apart from the plugins tab in SBserver, which comes up with the message 'Couldn't resolve IP address for: www.mysqueezebox.com' Not sure of its a server problem or mySB.com problem. [slim] New set-up info required
This has most likely been asked before but this forum is pretty big... I have a 2TB Buffalo LinkStation Pro which i am transferring all my music onto - this is connected directly to my router and wakes on LAN should I switch on either of the pc's in the house. What I want is a media streamer that will pull media files (iTunes and MP3 formats are on the NAS box) direct from this NAS box (without a pc running in the background) and play back through the hi-fi. I'm obviously looking at the Squeezebox hardware (Touch or Duet) and would like to know if what I want to do is achievable before I part with the readies... You need to have Squeezebox Server running on the Linkstation (which it may be good at doing, or not, or anything in between). Are you running SBS on a NAS? Try stopping restarting SBS server on the NAS. Sorry should have added more info. Running SBS on my Win7 x64 desktop, and have stopped and restarted the server, no success. In the diagnostics all is reported as ok. I'm convinced that there is no way to make it work between Windows and a NAS. Drive letters and UNC paths just confuse anything non-Windows (the NAS in this case). You would need to have the iTunes XML file be run through something to change the path, or maybe have an option added to SBS to convert the Windows path to the correct Linux path? [slim] Cover art only displays for first track in Album
I have tried to search on this issue but am still lost. I have SB3 and using the latest SqueezeboxServer version. My music collection is on the same drive as the server (on a Mac) and consists of approximately 1400 Albums. Yes, I do use iTunes to manage my files and have recently purchased iPeng for my iPhone and iPad. (I love it). My cover art is only displayed for the first track in each album. (I only noticed this since using iPeng but now i see it is also true on my Squeezeserver interface). I understand that this is an iTunes issue and it is how iTunes manages the cover art files. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I am not very tech savvy.Obviously I do not want to fix this one album at a time and am looking for a way to do it all together. [slim] SqueezePlay Library Connection
I have an odd problem with SqueezePlay not connecting to my library. I'm running Squeezebox Server 7.5.3 on CentOS 5.2 installed a week ago from a fresh download, and SqueezePlay on Win 7 64bit from the 7.5.3 nightly build around the same time. I also have a SB Touch which works perfectly with the same server. When I run SPlay I can't connect to my library, when I try to do it (for example by clicking My Music or going into the settings and selecting a new library with the right IP address) I get a longish period where SP has a Connecting to Server Music on the screen, which eventually times out telling me it couldn't connect and to check everything was switched on and connected, etc. The funny thing is that there is some connection between the two. For example, Server Music is the name I've given the library, so it's been able to determine that from the server. Also, I can push music to SP from the server's web interface, and make it play stuff from the server, by selecting it in the server-side web interface drop-down list of players. I don't think it's a firewall issue, there is none running on the CentOS server and I've tried disabling the firewall (AVG) on the Windows machine, no change. However I have the same behaviour on 2 windows machines, both running W7 x64. Don't have easy access to any other client machines with different operating systems to try unfortunately. However my SB Touch works perfectly, indicating perhaps that the server setup is OK. All machines (Win and CentOS) are fully patched to latest fixes/packages. Anybody any idea where to look next? Please indicate in step-wise fashion the way to connect the Vortexbox appliance and software (including initial installation of the Vortexbox appliance) to a ApplelExtreme router servicing a Mac desktop which currently is running the Squeezebox Server with audio files residing in the iTunes folder on the Mac. It has been working until recently, and even when re-installed offers the same response. [slim] Installing Applets on SqueezePlay
I have a 3rd party applet (Scanner Box) that I have installed on my Touch and Controller. When I control the Touch using SqueezePlay the applet does not show in the menu. If I try to install it, it looks likeit succeeds but the applet is not installed. Is it possible to install applets in SqueezePlay? I would love to have AirPlay on SBS even if I hate iTunes. It would be a perfect way for my wife and kids (and guests) to play their lossy crap files (music) on the SB.
