[DX-CHAT] KP5 - so sad
K3LP is operating right now on 40m SSB. His rate could easily double if ONLY the station he went back to responded. Instead, dozens of people keep calling on the same frequency, preventing him from completing the QSO. Nothing new, but still sad. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, , http://www.ad1c.us Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX related items only, dx-chat@njdxa.org This is the DX-CHAT reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org

Hi Bill, Tough on the DX end at times. Been there few times. What can you do? Call QRZ S-1 signals only? I bet you Rag has worked KP5 many times before and should not even be calling! Have fun... Merry Christmas.. Bill W4WX I work the ones I hear... - Original Message - From: "wm.richards2" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Bill'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, December 16, 2005 5:19 PM Subject: RE: [DX-NEWS] N3KS/KP5 Earlier K3LP was saying that his IC706 had max scale on signals on 15m. That was why he spread everyone out 21300 to 21350. Tough at the other end when everyone is 40 and 50 over. Not many rigs can find holes for less powerful stations. DX is what it is. 73 all, and Merry Christmas Bill WB5ZAM -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bill Sent: Friday, December 16, 2005 2:36 PM To: Ragnar Otterstad; DX-NEWS Subject: Re: [DX-NEWS] N3KS/KP5 Rag, I think you would complain if you were hung with a new rope! No, Sir. I was just hoping somebody would make the guys on KP5 aware of some unfortunate facts of life ! Re: [DX-CHAT] KH6ND/KH5
I just want to thank everyone who took the trouble to reply to me. I have replied directly to everyone who contacted me. I think I have worked out what happened here, I remember seeing KH6ND/KH5 call sign in the 20 M spots just prior to finding the pile up and working him. What I didn't take in at the time was that IT9RYH spotted him at 1226 UTC. If I had, I would have been very suspicious!! Guess I cant really complain, in nearly 40 years operating this is the first time to the best of my knowledge that I worked a pirate! Certainly the signals sounded auroral and weren't that strong, so sounded authentic, but so would a european back scatter signal! In addition after my QSO I heard another European call him using the name Frank!! Have a great Christmas everyone and lets hope lots of DX. 73's, Mike Giddings G3XLB__Do You Yahoo!?Tired of spam?
