I don't know of any difference, although automake-1.5 does have a patch
applied for build.

1.3.5 and 1.4.2 are both available under fink.

I have been using autoconf-2.13 and automake-1.4 which worked up until
Mac OS X 10.2 but i now broken. I'll try something later.

How likely are these packages in Fink likely to be different from the
packages in Debian Stable?

I also forgot about libtool. Whats the right version there?

Re: [Fink-devel] Which version of Autoconf/Automake?

2002-11-07 Thread Alexander Hansen
Individual packages vary. Under fink, as of right now, there are the
following packages:

autoconf-2.13-3
autoconf-2.54-1
automake-1.6.3-1
automake-1.5-2

So I would assume that your tarballs should use one of those versions .

[Fink-devel] Which version of Autoconf/Automake?

2002-11-07 Thread Erik de Castro Lopo
Hi all,

I do all my development work on Linux but would like to produce a tarball
which compiles on Mac OS X (10.1 and 10.2) without any messing about.

Which version of autoconf and automake should I be using on Linux?

Thanks,
Erik
