PHP, pear, session problems on FreeBSD 6.2
After noticing that I get an php error (an Segmentation fault error), I reinstalled my php port. Than I got some errors related to the preg_match function => I reinstalled all php extensions (with portupgrade -rf php-5.2.1_3), including pcre. After this, my apache server didn't start ("apachectl start" didn't give me any errors, but after switching to the debug mode from the httpd.conf file, all I got was something like "[Mon Apr 9 23:34:15 2007] [info] mod_unique_id: using ip addr 10.0.0.1"). Then I discovered that it was because the php5-session extension (after commenting the line in the extensions.ini). Then I noticed that listing the installed pear/pecl packages gave me a lot of php errors (some errors in Command.php). Trying to install the pear package using the ports, it would stop with stop with an "*** Signal 11 Stop in /usr/ports/devel/pear." error, but it solved (in a way) the previous problem with that php errors (bringing another one: "Segmentation fault: 11 (core dumped)"). I don't know what else I can do... arp: XXX is on rl0 but got reply from ...
I have read a lot about this error message, but I have another questions: What actually happens when this error occures? I mean what can this error lead to? Is it enough to switch the specific sysctl variable to stop the error (and all it can lead to)? I dont think so, then: Is the blocking of some of those packets the best solution to this problem? (In my case, the problem is because the 2 NICs are connected to the same network through the same switch). - Yahoo! Multiple routes
How can I have multiple gateways, and, all the packets to be sent using all the gateways simultaneously under FreeBSD 4.11? Network problems?
I use 4.11R of FreeBSD. In my rc.conf file I have these lines: firewall_enable="YES" firewall_logging="YES" firewall_script="/root/ipfw.sh" In /root/ipfw.sh there are ipfw commands, and, commands for configuring the IP and MAC. When changing an entry (an IP and a MAC) with other one I experience this problem: on boot time apache freezes, and, ignoring this, startx freezes too. I have to mention that I have 2 network cards, but I use only one at a time, the second not being connected to the switch. Id doesn`t meeter the Ip or the MAC, the network device is "UP" and "RUNNING", everytihng is ok. Could it be because of the hostname??? I can`t figure out this. Network problems?
I use FreeBSD 4.11-RELEASE. In my rc.conf I have these lines: firewall_enable="YES" firewall_logging="YES" firewall_script="/root/ipfw.sh". In /root/ipfw.sh I have added a few more lines for ifconfig(setting IP,MAC). The problem is that, when I try to use a different MAC and IP, the apache starting freezes, and, when trying the startx command, it doesn`t do anything, it does`nt yield anything. On a 4.8 Release I tried to change the MAC before the IP, and these problems seemed to disappear. And, of course, the network card is working(UP adn RUNNING (from ifconfig)), no metter of the ip and MAC. Could it be something because of the name of the computer, is there any other files but /etc/hosts, /etc/host.conf?? Thank you. __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I have the 4.11 Release installed. In handbook: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/firewalls-pf.html is written: All versions of the 4.X branch PF is available as part of KAME. And I dare to ask: what KAME is (of course from ports i could`nt install pf). Thanks. __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
