Re: [Audyssey] Press Your Luck
Hi Charlse. that is why I suggested this be an option rather than a preset thing, sinse personally I find just sitting around and listening to a lot of automated numbers play out with nothing to do and nothing to interact with rather boring, sinse after all it's all random chance anyway and the fun of the game is how much you! push your random chance which is indeed largely unaffected by what other players do on their turns, just what their totals are. Re: [Audyssey] Press Your Luck
Hi Dark, I guess that I could shorten the amount of random time that the bots let the wheel spin, but I don't want to shorten it too much and ruin the randomization of the spin. Personally I like to go over and have a bit of a cigarette or coffee while the bots take their turns. I also put Snakes and Ladders in auto play mode by pressing the tab key. Then I just sit on the couch and listen to the game. In Press Your Luck you could always play as three human players and play as quickly as you like. [Audyssey] Football pool
Hi, I've got a friend that runs an NFL football pool. It's just for fun. No money. If you are interested, please write to John at johnsnfl...@aol.com or bushido...@aol.com WELCOME HOME! This list is for anyone interested in the NFL! If you are interested in seeing how the NFL list works and trying your hand on picking games please let me know! If you just want to be on an NFL list, but do not want to make weekly picks, that is okay too! I have many people on my list who only want to read the NFL information, but do not want to make picks. I put out a list on my screen name: johnsnfl...@aol.com. It is a fun list. There are no fees and no prizes given. Everyone picks who they want to win for each game that is playing that week. If you miss a few weeks it is okay, just as long as you try to pick all games! However, sometimes life will prevent you from picking games for a week or even a few weeks! As long as you pick over 50% of the games I will keep track of your average! If not you can still try to win the weekly picks, but not be part of the averages! If you wish to be part of both; your average will be below pickers who have picked all games, even if your average is better! It isn't fair if someone picks say 256 games to be listed below someone who only picked 100 games! Now if someone picks 256 games and someone else 210 games, if the 210 picker has a better average they will be listed above a 256 game picker! The best picker for the week is pronounced King or Queen of the week! Another record I keep track of is everyone’s averages. This is so we can have a winner for the year! The picker with the best average is also pronounced King or Queen each week! Along with everyone’s weekly picks and average, I keep track of the games played last week, standings, points scored, and points allowed! If anyone has any suggestions to make the NFL LIST better and would like it added to the list all they have to do is let me know! The list is your list, too! I send out a second e-mail with everyone’s picks for the week! Your screen name is deleted and a name put in that place! Some people go by their name and others by a nickname! You only have to let me know what name you wish to use! Nicknames on the list are: , Stallion, the Iowa Gal, and Charger-Dodger Eric! The third e-mail is the schedule for the week and if I remember the standings listed under each team! Also listed is points scored/verses points allowed picks, and my picks! When the season is half over; that is after week 9, I put out a fourth e-mail with the playoff race! Once regular season is over, you can pick the eleven game post season picks! Post season is the ten playoff games and the Super bowl! There is a post season King or Queen! There also is an overall King and Queen for regular season and post season! If you are unable to e-mail me at: johnsnfl...@aol.com, please try my main screen name at: bushido...@aol.com. You can e-mail me any time; you do not have to wait until Pre season starts! Re: [Audyssey] Press Your Luck
Hi jim. Playing as three humans I do't find asmuch fun sinse there is no challenge or possibility of losing the game in that case, it's really just a question of time, but if you've actually set the wheel to spin in real time with the number randomly generated rather than the wheel spinning sound just play and then the game generate a random number when you hit the key, I suppose there isn't really a way to shorten the time. Re: [Audyssey] cards?
Yes, as has been said, aces can be wild, and supersede everything else. Lots of poker is like this, except for deuces wild, which has twos as the wild card. Teresa Winging its way from my iPod On Aug 24, 2014, at 2:11 PM, dark d...@xgam.org wrote: Hi Josh. About colours, hearts and diamonds are red, spades and clubs are black, this only tends to matter in a couple of games though like euchre and clondike solitare, usually in most games you can just take the four suits just as divisions. which is why I quit isp mail. Google still gets spam but most of the time the spam I get is caught sometimes I will get spam in my inbox but what can I say, my address is all over the net and with the new job I am going to get online my msn, skype aim and other stuff will be to. A lot of isp mail is managed mostly by yahoo which has a poor track record on security anyway depending where you are and captures a bunch of non spam email. While due to me subscribing to deal sites locally I do get exposed to a lot of spam sometimes 12 a day I need to go through for non spam mail and ocationally one or 2 on my box google has been ok I have had to use rollup.com to manage my subscriputions as I was subscribed to a spam emailer and a few other things but this all comes with the teritory I guess with having a cloud based mailbox, sadly there are hardly any local isp servers managing their own mail anymore. Re: [Audyssey] my dos archive
Yes thanks tom, this started on the nvda list where someone wanted to use q basic to program in of all things aparently dos aint all dead right now. To be honest though my view is if you don't have a hardware synth and the right software and depending on what you want its near impossible to get its not worth it. True a couple free readers are around but still. Another thing is work vertual machines run slow on windows unless you have hardwre vertualisation and since I wager most of us won't have it unless we all got macs then good luck to running it. Believe me I tried a win xp and a linux vm on here. Easier to get a 32 bit system or run dos somehow but if you don't have the stuff well. I have always wanted either a dosbox emulator or at least something like the dos4 gw program that could run 16 bit programs in 32 bit mode. If we could have a 16 to 32 bit bridge it would not be so bad but we don't even have one of those. heck all dosbox would need is an accessable frontend to run games as long as it all looped back to itself, there is one for freepascal the programming commandiline language I mucked with at school so in theory there should be one though being a true dos buff I'd take true dos any day but with the fact I have no hardware synth and will have to need windows screenreaders a frontend would be easier. Someone also suggested sygwin which I have not bothered with really and something called ms sys but I donn't know what this package is. They'll have to setup a virtual machine in order to run older MS Dos compatible games and software. Cheers! On 8/16/14, shaun everiss sm.ever...@gmail.com wrote: Hi all. Well I know this is quite old but on another list someone asked ffor all my old dos software. it hardly happens, but for the next week or 2 or till I get banned from dropbox links for over taxing their servers again 88mb of a 7z archive of everything I own is up for grabs again. I suggest that you grab it while its hot because I don't get asked for this often. When it tails off I usually kill the file again. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] my dos archive
Hi Shaun, Well, as to your point about Dos not being dead I agree. Dos is definitely not dead. Over the years I have encountered my share of Dos enthusiasts who still use Dos on a regular basis, and have switched to free Dos solutions like Freedos which is supposedly being updated and maintained. Plus there are Dos emulators like Dosbox that are perfectly fine for someone with functional eyeballs. I myself still run a bunch of Dos stuff in Dosemu on Linux. Dosemu is in my opinion the most accessible Dos emulator out there and I can play games and even run old office suites like WordPerfect in Dosemu. I wonder if there is a way to port Dosemu to Windows in order to get the same level of access to Dos apps in Windows as Linux. Sigwin is a Linux environment compiled to run on Windows. Actually, it is pretty nice for running and compiling Linux apps for Windows without having to have a Linux OS installed. It may be possible to port Dosemu or something like it to Sigwin and then running Dosemu on Windows via Sigwin. That's probably the most accessible way we are going to get in running Dos apps in a 64-bit Windows environment.
