[GNC] All Saved Reports Return Empty
I think this problem has cropped up before, but I don't remember the solution. I'm on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS Version 5.4 (Flathub 5.4.1) I brought over my saved-reports-2.8 file from my Windows backup laptop and put them in ~/.var/app/org.gnucash.GnuCash/data/gnucash Every report I run returns empty. Nothing works, but there are no errors. I tried editing a couple of them, but that did not help. I even tried creating a new report, but that did not help either. How do I fix this issue? $ gtk-launch --version results in 3.24.30 Adding WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 to .bashrc did not help Upgrading to version 4.10 DID help. [GNC] Reports No Longer Work
No reports work. None of my saved reports display info. Nothing from the menu displays info. Even reports I never run display nothing. Every report, saved or otherwise, displays a blank report screen. No errors or warning. System 76: Pop!_OS 21.10Gnome Version: 40.4.0 GnuCash Version: 4.9Build ID: Flathub 4.9-2Finance::Quote: 1.49 Custom report file appears correct: /home/xx/.var/app/org.gnucash.GnuCash/data/gnucash/saved-reports-2.8 All was working last week. Re: [GNC] Version upgrade: Missing Saved Reports
Your memory was close enough and for Win7 it is buried inside C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\GnuCash folder. Copied the 2.4 file to that location, renamed it 2.8 and BAM! All my reports are back. Thanks Adrien! Reports were moved to another location and named saved-reports-2.8 (2.8 was originally the next in the version numbering, but was later upped to 3.0) You?ll need to copy your 2.4 reports there. Unfortunately, I don?t know the Windows location off hand but the wiki will have it. (someone more familiar with this might chime in as well) I *think* it is `c:\Users\\%APPDATA%` but I could be remembering it wrong ?best to double check and verify that. If you have a truly custom report (not just a saved report) I seem to recall also that the user loading file has changed. The wiki should also have this info. Check the FAQ for the links (or rabbit hole if you will, as it may be buried 3+ pages deep) to find the info. Re: [GNC] Connect MySQL to GnuCash
That partially works. There is a non-specific error given after converting to MySQL: ** Tables are created but no data is brought forward ** ERROR Converting to MySQL The server at URL mysql://___/t4h_gnucash experienced an error or encountered bad or corrupt data. ** Tables are created but no data is brought forward ** I found a similar issue raised on Stack Overflow. No definite answer on why it occurred or how to work around it. Is there a solution other than writing an export script to dump all the data and then another script to load it into MySQL? Once that is done it should be no problem to connect MySQL workbench as per any other database. GnuCash will have to have been built with support for MySQL (which is the default) and you will have to have MySQL installed obviously. Re: Duplicating Accounts?
Adrien, that was it.I exported the accounts to a CSV. Edited the file, removed all accounts but the one I wanted to duplicate. Edited those account lines with the new name and imported back into GNUCash. BAM! Just what I was after. :) Thanks much!Steve Message: 5 Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2018 14:38:33 -0600 From: Adrien Monteleone To: "gnucash-user@gnucash.org" Subject: Re: Duplicating Accounts? Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" I thought perhaps the route to go would be create a new hierarchy template, but it seems that is not possible, at least from within the software. Then I looked at exporting and importing an account tree, but again, while export is possible, I don't see how to import a partial tree. Best of luck. Duplicating Accounts?
I figured out how to do this once before and now for thelife of I cannot remember. I am trying to duplicate an expense account and allof its sub-accounts, with a new name of course, and zero balances. This is not a transfer of funds and I'm not duplicatingtransactions.
