Bug description:
  Although I've been previously running RadioTray in Ubuntu 16.04, it
  has recently become unlaunchable.

  Typically when you launch RadioTray, an indicator appears on the top-
  right-panel (left of the clock), and you are able to select a radio-
  station to stream.

  Now, when you launch it, nothing apparently happens.

  
  
  This is a lack of dependencies by default:

  Need adding depends to « python-xdg and gir1.2-appindicator3-0.1 »

  note: as the latest ubuntu release now mainly use python3-xdg,
  radiotray should use it too, instead of the deprecated python-xdg

Accepted ssh-import-id into xenial-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ssh-import-
id/5.5-0ubuntu1.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package.  See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the

Bug description:
  It has been brought to my attention the following :

  
  Environment: The guest VM is using a canonical ubuntu image, and the eth0 is 
a virtio-net adaptor, running on DPDK.

  Background: "ip a" command relies on the operstate variable of the
  net_device structure maintained by the kernel. This is based on the
  operational state as defined in the IF MIB (RFC 2863). Device drivers
  are expected to update this member. But many older drivers don’t seem
  to be using this. So in general, IF_OPER_UP and IF_OPER_UNKNOWN are
  treated as equal, in some sense, to maintain backward compatibility.
  Even if we look at https://elixir.free-
  electrons.com/linux/v4.15-rc2/source/include/linux/netdevice.h#L3468,
  the function to check if interface is up, is written as follows, which
  says that OPER_UNKNOWN is not something to be alarmed about, and just
  reflective of a state that some drivers don’t care to update about.

  Now, for traditional kernel mode network adapter drivers, this state is 
supposed to be manipulated by the driver. And we can safely assume that most

Bug description:
  [Impact]
  When the target device where to dump the kernel is under a multipath 
configuration, dumping will fail, possibly leaving the system stuck in the 
kdump kernel.
  The fix is to include some scsi device handlers needed for the multipath 
setup inside the initramfs image that is used by kdump.
  All modules currently loaded in the system are included.

  [Test Case]
  Setting up kdump to target a multipath device using an appropriate storage 
that requires such scsi_dh modules and triggering a crash will demonstrate that 
kdump fails.
  After the fix, it works fine.

  [Regression Potential]
  If a bug is introduced, loading kdump might fail, and a crash will not be 
generated. A worse regression that might be considered is the system is stuck 
in such a kdump kernel and needs to be rebooted locally (and the crash file is 
not generated either). But since this is what we are trying to fix, we don't 
expect other systems to break. This didn't happen on a small (less than 1GiB of 
RAM) x86 VM, though.

  [Impact]
  r8169 stays in D0 even when no ethernet cable is plugged in. This drains
  lots of power (~3W). The tested laptop uses 5.5W when r8169 is in D0,
  1.8W when r8169 is in D3. The power saved is substantial.

  [Fix]
  Improved rumtime PM logic to let the device gets suspended (D3) when the
  port is not in used and the link is down.

  [Test Case]
  The chip version is 8168h/8111h.
  Test when no ethernet gets plugged.

  Powertop shows power consumption is roughly 5.5W.
  lspci shows the device is in D0.

  With the patch,
  The power consumption is reduced to 1.8W.
  lspci shows the device is in D3, PME# is correctly enabled.
  Plug ethernet cable can corretly wake up the device.
  Unplug the cable, the device gets suspended to D3 correctly.

  [Regression Potential]
  Medium.
  - r8169 is so ubiquitous, with lots of different chip versions. It's
hard to test all of them.
  - PCI D3 needs system firmware (ACPI) support, this might hit some
plaform bugs.
  - the code is still in v4.16-rc*, so it's not well tested by end users.

  This is with logwatch 7.4.2-1ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS, Xenial
  Server.

  I get many "Unmatched Entries" lines from dovecot in my logwatch
  emails like the following:

  dovecot: imap(username): Logged out in=xxx out=yyy: zzz Time(s)

  Logwatch should be ignoring these entries.

  This appears to be the same as Debian 840952:  https://bugs.debian.org
  /cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=840952  Would be nice if we could backport
  the fix to the current version of logwatch included with xenial.

  PCI: hv: Fix 2 hang issues in hv_compose_msi_msg()
  1. With the patch "x86/vector/msi: Switch to global reservation mode",
  the recent v4.15 and newer kernels always hang for 1-vCPU Hyper-V VM
  with SR-IOV. This is because when we reach hv_compose_msi_msg() by
  request_irq() -> request_threaded_irq() ->__setup_irq()->irq_startup()
  -> __irq_startup() -> irq_domain_activate_irq() -> ... ->
  msi_domain_activate() -> ... -> hv_compose_msi_msg(), local irq is
  disabled in __setup_irq().

  Note: when we reach hv_compose_msi_msg() by another code path:
  pci_enable_msix_range() -> ... -> irq_domain_activate_irq() -> ... ->
  hv_compose_msi_msg(), local irq is not disabled.

  hv_compose_msi_msg() depends on an interrupt from the host.
  With interrupts disabled, a UP VM always hangs in the busy loop in
  the function, because the interrupt callback hv_pci_onchannelcallback()
  can not be called.

  We can do nothing but work it around by polling the channel. This
  is ugly, but we don't have any other choice.

  2. If the host is ejecting the VF device before we reach
  hv_compose_msi_msg(), in a UP VM, we can hang in hv_compose_msi_msg()
  forever, because at this time the host doesn't respond to the
  CREATE_INTERRUPT request. This issue exists the first day the
  pci-hyperv driver appears in the kernel.

  Luckily, this can also by worked around by polling the channel
  for the PCI_EJECT message and hpdev->state, and by checking the
  PCI vendor ID.

  Note: actually the above 2 issues also happen to a SMP VM, if
  "hbus->hdev->channel->target_cpu == smp_processor_id()" is true.

  I'm getting the following error while trying to netboot the last few
  netboot installers (including the most recent, 20101020ubuntu534):

  bnx2 :06:00.0: Direct firmware load for bnx2/bnx2-rv2p-06-6.15.fw failed 
with error -2
  bnx2: Can't load firmware file "bnx2/bnx2-rv2p-06-6.15.fw"

  It does indeed look like bnx2-rv2p-06-6.15.fw is referenced in bnx2.ko
  but the fw isn't in lib/firmware/bnx2/

   1. Open Language Support (/usr/bin/gnome-language-selector)
   2. When asked to install additional language support, do it
   3. Install some RTL language (e.g. Arabic)
   4. Move Arabic ( العربية) to the top of the list
   5. Close the dialog
   6. Log out and log back in

  The language becomes the default system language without any other effects.

  I'm trying to install MAAS in a LXD container, but that's failing due
  to avahi package install problems.  I'm tagging all packages here.

  [Issue]
  Avahi sets a number of rlimits on startup including the maximum number of 
processes (nproc=2) and limits on memory usage.  These limits are hit in a 
number of cases  - specifically the maximum process limit is hit if you run lxd 
containers in 'privileged' mode such that avahi has the same uid in multiple 
containers and large networks can trigger the memory limit.

  The fix is to remove these default rlimits completely from the
  configuration file.

  [Impact]

   * Avahi is unable to start inside of containers without UID namespace 
isolation because an rlimit on the maximum number of processes is set by 
default to 2.  When a container launches Avahi, the total number of processes 
on the system in all containers exceeds this limit and Avahi is killed.  It 
also fails at install time, rather than runtime due to a failure to start the 
service.
   * Some users also have issues with the maximum memory allocation causing 
Avahi to exit on networks with a large number of services as the memory limit 
was quite small (4MB).  Refer LP #1638345

  [Test Case]

   * setup lxd (apt install lxd, lxd init, get working networking)
   * lxc launch ubuntu:16.04 avahi-test --config security.privileged=true
   * lxc exec avahi-test sudo apt install avahi-daemon

  This will fail if the parent host has avahi-daemon installed, however,
  if it does not you can setup a second container (avahi-test2) and
  install avahi there.  That should then fail (as the issue requires 2
  copies of avahi-daemon in the same uid namespace to fail)

  [Regression Potential]

   * The fix removes all rlimits configured by avahi on startup, this is
  an extra step avahi takes that most programs did not take (limiting
  memory usage, running process count, etc).  It's possible an unknown
  bug then consumes significant system resources as a result of that
  limit no longer being in place, that was previously hidden by Avahi
  crashing instead.  However I believe this risk is significantly
  reduced as this change has been shipping upstream for many months and
  have not seen any reports of new problems - however it has fixed a
  number of existing crashes/problems.

   * The main case this may not fix the issue is if they have modified
  their avahi-daemon.conf file - but it will fix new installs and most
  installs as most users don't modify the file. And users may be
  prompted on upgrade to replace the file.

   * This change already exists upstream in 0.7 which is in bionic.  SRU
  required to artful, xenial, trusty.

  Regression: After a recent update, combobox menus have gray text on
  gray background making them almost unreadable.

  [Test Case]

  1. Open GIMP and start a new file.
  2. At the bottom of the window click on the 'px' combo box.
  3. Verify the menu that appears has readable text (light grey text on a dark 
grey background).

  [Regression Potential]

  Very low. The fix changes the theme for "gtk-combobox-popup-menu"
  only. So theoretically it should not be possible for the fix to affect
  anything other than combobox menus.

  [Other Info]

  The regression happened in updates to 18.04, 17.10 and 16.04 around
  late 2017 - January 2018.

  When Tenant name contains any non-acsii characters (such as Chinese), calling 
oslo_context/context.py#to_dict method will cause a unicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' 
codec can't encode characters in position 0-3: ordinal not in range(128).

   2) find /tmp/temp-home/
   3) should list generated XDG user directories

  Launching something like:

  hdparm can cause certain systems to occasionally fail to boot. hdparm tries 
to enable APM on every (non-USB/non-firewire) disk in the system without first 
checking if APM is supported. This *should*
  be OK, since hdparm fails gracefully in this case. However, sending APM 
commands to disks that don't support it can have side-effects. I received a 
report that this was causing bus resets on a Cavium Sabre system with the disk 
below that would sometimes escalate to a boot failure.

  [Test Case]
  Boot a system with a non-USB/non-firewire disk that does not support APM and 
verify that there are no kernel messages like:

  SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 04 53 40 fe 21 04
  00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
   APM_level = not supported

  
  [Regression Risk]
  This change entered Debian and Ubuntu 1 month ago, and no regressions have 
been reported. One source of regressions might be that configuring APM on a 
disk that claims not to support it did have some positive side-effect that 
would no longer occur.

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * on start of qemu-system-ppc64 MSR_SF is not set correctly
     So it doesn't start 64bit as it should

   * Todays guests usually work around this and are fine, but it is
     incorrect and might be an issue down the road. Furthermore this is also
     a fixup to some verification tests at the same time.
