Re: Naspa - Technical Support magazine
I think it is PDF only via the web site. But I don't think it's monthly any more. Naspa - Technical Support magazine
Does anyone know if Technical Support magazine is still being published ? It stopped about three years ago but I saw that it re-appeared in June last year. Looking at the Naspa web-site it doesn't mention it as one of the membership benefits. I always thought it was a pretty good magazine so I thought it a pity that it stopped. Since I'm mostly into mainframe communication software I looked at "Networking". Not much (if anything) relating to mainframe. (Maybe "Web-to-Hose" was supposed to be "Web-to-Host". ) I gae up on Networking and tride "Legacy Systems". Topics: General Mainframe, MVS, OS 390, OS2, VM, VSE. MVS and OS/390, but not z/OS? Naspa offered a deal for returning members, something like $20 for 20 months, so I took it. They email when new magazines are available. Re: "Technical Support" magazine
I just talked to my friend Scott Scherer, who used to run Naspa, and now just works there. He was glad to know about the difficulties. They just went from a format of having a monthly magazine, to putting the articles on their site as soon as they were written. He assured me that someone will be looking into this, and that someone from Naspa should be posting to the list in the next hour or so to clear things up. http://www.naspa.com/ just now (5/20/2007 12:15 Mountain Daylight Savings Time) is not failing as miserably as it did yesterday. You might be able to login and find the issues once again. It still shows one error on the web page for me (Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '>' in C:\www_hosts\naspa5 \includes\common.inc(1342) : eval()'d code on line 11) but the rest of te web page looks okay. They used to have samples open to the public but it has been far too long ago for me to recall what you had to do to see them. Once they went to the eZine, have you read every issue to keep up with what their plans were? Too often, once written media goes electronic, they put the burden on you to keep up with their changes. When all else fails, contact the publisher directly and have your paid up member id number in hand.
