Re: STP Setup question for IBM 2818 processsor
In case you haven't already, it would be very beneficial for you to spend some time with the STP Planning Guide - SG24-7280 from RedBooks: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247280.html Also, the STP Implementation Guide - SG24-7281 redbook has explicit examples of how to configure STP depending on your starting point. http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247281.html You should look at these before attempting your initial setup, I think they will be very helpful. You will need to Initialize Time. This will allow you to set the Leap seconds, Time Zone offset, Date and time. Most likely your Leap seconds will be "0" For Time Zone Offset you should select "Automatically Adjust" For Set Date/Time select "Use the configured External Time Source to ..." I assume you already have an ETS setup. The last thing you do is assign CTN roles. You will use Force Configuration if this is a new STP setup.
