I fully agree.
Besides it, the only problem of CDex is that the internationalization
support has some important bottlenecs, so it is more convenient to use it
in English even when UI translation is available in many languages.

Re: [JAWS-Users] looking for a good CD ripper that works well with jaws.

2017-09-26 Thread Fernando Gregoire
Perhaps there were changes in the Freedb server which this program uses to
get CD metadata automatically from the Internet, so in case you haven't do
so, I suggest you to install the latest version of the program.
Regarding where ripped files are saved, although by default files should be
saved in standard Music folder, you can check it and eventually modify the
path in Preferences. Moreover, you can also manually set the directory and
file name scheme based on the different metadata; it is well documented in
the dialog box.

CDEX does take a little fiddling to configure it, but after that it works
well. iTunes in my experience does find artists when all else fails. I
normally use gold wave myself, like others have said media player does quite
well in all aspects of the process.

I am sure there are other programs out there, just try a few and make your
own choice.

Hi Jim,
If you have the Nero Package, no mater how old your version is, the ripping
function in Nero Burning ROM is very accessible.
If you're looking something open source, there's no better in terms of
advanceness and accessibility than CDex.
Windows Media Player is accessible for doing this, but I don't find it
convenient nor very customizable.
