[kdeconnect] [Bug 417419] Support 'send text' while android 10 prevent global clipboard.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417419 Simon Redman changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Latest Commit||https://invent.kde.org/kde/ ||kdeconnect-android/commit/b ||81d3a82e5a71757388fffb4a3b3 ||486aea74d1aa Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #2 from Simon Redman --- Git commit b81d3a82e5a71757388fffb4a3b3486aea74d1aa by Simon Redman, on behalf of Anjani Kumar. Committed on 12/03/2020 at 03:56. Pushed by sredman into branch 'master'. Make Clipboard plugin work in Android X ## Summary Fixes #5 This patch introduces a workaround to access the restricted clipboard in Android X. Clipboard synchronisation in KDE Connect was one of the killer features before Android X. An action button is added in the persistent foreground notification **Send Clipboard** which adds the ability to send the clipboard using a small workaround. Clipboard Synchronisation works as usual in lower Android Versions. This is a very convenient workaround for sending clipboard quickly as it does not requires to open the app. Floating Activity is quite handy for quick actions. ## Details of the workaround ### ClipboardFloatingActivity * This activity is only executed in Android X. * This is transparent, accesses the clipboard when in focus. * Sends a `NetworkPacket` containing *text* and *timestamp*. * When the packet has been sent, it pops up a toast with a success message. * Automatically closes after the showing the Toast. ### Reverted changes for Android X. * Changes done in commits 54be4a1a997e14516353f5104ef1619f98ba99ec and 9f3b75b7483fe79527d635ad10a2bb7cf6496d8c have been reverted. * These changes are not required anymore as the workaround for clipboard sync works. The action button in the notification for **Send Clipboard** is not added in the lower versions of Android. **It is only added in Android X**. **Two way sync is working in Android X with this patch. Sync works normally in lower Android versions.** ## Test Plan ### Before: Clipboard from PC to Phones were synchronised but Clipboard of phones didn't get synchronised with the PC. ### After: The action button is up in Android X while using other apps. ![Screenshot_20200227-150435_Chrome](/uploads/201960e1577321c8a77c9945bd2b5e76/Screenshot_20200227-150435_Chrome.png) After clicking the button, a cute Toast appears with the message *Clipboard sent* ![Screenshot_20200228-233701_Chrome](/uploads/8da58b1006b95ce82c7cec2c91f32878/Screenshot_20200228-233701_Chrome.png) I think this is one of the best workarounds available to make this awesome plugin work. Clear the existing name 4. Type part of a name that appears in more than one part of the people heirarchy OBSERVED RESULT The filtered list includes all results that contain the entered text. The width of the drop-down list is limited to the width of the text field on the face thumbnail. As a result, the individual results are truncated in length and will not show the tag containers if the full tag "path" exceeds this width. EXPECTED RESULT Option 1 (preferred): The drop-down list is automatically sized in width to the longest tag path. Option 2: The user may hover the mouse pointer over a line and get a tooltip with the full tag path. [digikam] [Bug 418757] New: Ability to Ignore a face region
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418757 Bug ID: 418757 Summary: Ability to Ignore a face region Product: digikam Version: 7.0.0 Platform: unspecified OS: unspecified Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Faces-Engine Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ericmitchell...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Add the ability to mark a face region as "Ignored". This removes the face region from the "Unknown" group without giving the face a specific name. In a simpler implementation, ignored faces are not processed for recognition. In a more complex implementation, ignored faces are automatically grouped by close similarity and assigned an internal name. Face recognition will consider these groups as people and offer them as a suggested match for other images, using "Ignore" as the suggested name. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is important when re-scanning images for faces. By marking faces as Ignored, you indicate that they do not need to be reviewed again. Deleting the face region is not a substitute, as the face will be re-detected with a subsequent scan and again marked as Unknown. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418747 Bug ID: 418747 Summary: Taking many screenshots in a row will hang Spectacle and make Dolphin and other programs unusable Product: Spectacle Version: 19.12.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com Reporter: anon...@openmailbox.org CC: k...@david-redondo.de Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Taking many screenshots in a row will basically make Dolphin, Gwenview and possibly more programs unusable. I did this as a test, I know it's not normal to mash the screenshot key, but it's still a problem I guess. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set a keyboard shortcut key for Capture Active Windows 2. Mash said shortcut a few times (I guess 10 or so) 3. Try to do anything in Plasma, such as starting Dolphin, everything will be delayed and unusable. 4. [frameworks-plasma] [Bug 418722] Add stacks like on MacOS
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418722 Recesvintvs changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|NOT A BUG |--- Status|RESOLVED|REPORTED --- Comment #2 from Recesvintvs --- (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #1) > There is a folder view widget plasmoid. > > I am not taking requests for cloning UIs And this lack of respect from some devs to users' intelligence is another example of what discourages users to report bugs... No, folder view plasmoid has nothing to do with stacking files; and if I've been missing for years that there's an stacking option in folder view plasmoid, please ilustrate me and accept my most sincere apologies. Folder view does NOT stack files acording to their type, date, tags and several other criteria. Actually, stacking files would benefit default Plasma desktop and Folder view widgets. If I have a folder with a lot of downloaded files that may be PDFs, MP4s. Opuses, MP3s, MDs, etc, etc, it would be very useful to stack them according to its type, so I can easily move the PDFs to my Documents folder, for example. Also if I could stack all the files in a folder that have the tag architecture I could just select that stack and copy to a pendrive or send them to my cloud space to keep using them for my university works for my Architecture studies on my laptop. It's not about cloning any UI but about adding an nonexistent feature in Plasma. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kio-extras] [Bug 398079] accessing passwordless Windows SMB shares requires authentification
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398079 --- Comment #16 from Patrick Silva --- Created attachment 126730 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=126730=edit password dialog with 'Remember password" dialog Watch the screen recording please. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfTosKiMLq0 I'm using my desktop computer (running Arch Linux) to access passwordless shares from Windows 7 installed on my laptop. Dolphin asks for password even to show the shares. When "No password, use anonymous (or guest) login" radio button is selected in password dialog and I press enter or click on "OK" button, Dolphin does not list the shares available and the password dialog shows up again. So I select "Use this password" radio button, type "*" (or any other fake login data) as username and password, press enter and Dolphin finally lists the shares from Windows 7 server. Dolphin asks for password again when I try to open "Dados-laptop" passwordless share. Pressing enter while "No password, use anonymous (or guest) login" radio button is selected makes the password dialog to show up again. Selecting "Use this password" radio button and entering fake login data does also not work this time. The only way to open my passwordless share when Dolphin asks for password is entering username and password that I use to start my user session on Windows 7. On my system there are 2 ways to prevent Dolphin asking for password when I try to list/open passwordless shares from Windows server: 1. entering username and password that I use to start my user session on Windows 7 in System Settings > Settings > "Windows shares" kcm. 2. I open system settings > Account details, check "Enable the KDE Wallet subsystem", click on "Apply" button. Then I try to open a passwordless share with Dolphin (now the password dialogs have "Remember password" checkbox as we can see the attached screenshot). In the first password dialog, I enter fake login data, check "Remember password" and press enter or click on "Ok" button. In the 2nd password dialog that Dolphin shows when I try to open a passwordless share, I enter username and password that I use to start my user session on Windows 7, check "Remember password" and press enter or click on "Ok" button. Now Dolphin does not ask for password even after reboot. nautilus 3.36 installed on the same client system also asks for password to list the passwordless shares from Windows 7, watch the following screen recording please. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcaJzoFwa80 If I click on "Connect" button while password field is empty, password dialog shows up again. So I enter "*" as username and password and naulilus lists the shares. Nautilus asks for password again (now it's a different password dialog with "Anonymous" and "Registered user" radio buttons) when I try to open a passwordless share. If "Anonymous" radio button is selected and I click on "Connect" button, nautilus shows the password dialog again. Nautilus also does not accept fake username and password "*"and it also only opens my passwordless share when I enter username and password that I use to start my user session on Windows 7. Password dialogs of nautilus never appear again after the following steps: 1. in the first password dialog, enter fake login data 2. select "Remember forever" radio button 3. click on "Connect" button 4. try to open a samba share, 2nd password dialog shows up. Enter username and password that you use to start user session in Windows server 5. select "Remember forever" radio button 6. click on "Connect" button 7. reboot and check if nautilus is still showing password dialogs when you try to open a passwordless share: yes, 2nd password dialog is still appearing. 8. enter username and password that you use to start user session in Windows server again 9. select "Remember forever" radio button again 10. click on "Connect" button again 11. reboot again Now you can access passwordless shares with nautilus without any password dialog. [plasmashell] [Bug 418742] New: Mute/unmute button on the start bar icons targets the wrong application
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418742 Bug ID: 418742 Summary: Mute/unmute button on the start bar icons targets the wrong application Product: plasmashell Version: 5.18.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Icons-only Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: msdobre...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY I have icons-only task manager setup and the restore Plasma session activated. As effect, several (four in this case) Dolphin instances are restored at startup. OBSERVED RESULT I have started two VLC instances and a Firefox instance. Firefox has no mute button on its icon. The multiple instances are collapse in one icon on the icons-only task manager bar. Dolphin icon has a mute button. VLC icon has a mute button. The bug consists in the fact that the mute button of Dolphin icon has effect over the first opened instance of VLC and that only. The mute button on the VLC icon seems to affect nothing (I don't have an instance of some application to be muted by it, apparently). Closing the second VLC instance removed the mute button from the Dolphin group icon. Also, its unclear which instance the mute button should operate on which instance, as there are many, but seems to work on one only. It's unclear if it is icons-only task manager related too. [krita] [Bug 418741] suggestions to reduce some annoying behaviors
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418741 Tymond changed: What|Removed |Added CC||tamtamy.tym...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Tymond --- Hi! Bug tracker is not a good place for discussions like that and suggestions. Can you please post it on KDE forum (https://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=136) or krita-artists.org? Alternatively reddit.com/r/krita, but it's more for user support, not for discussions or feature requests. When writing a post in one of those places, please also include an information how did you learn about bugs.kde.org and where did you look to get information about how to send suggestion or get involved in the development - it will help solving the last issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 418741] New: suggestions to reduce some annoying behaviors
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418741 Bug ID: 418741 Summary: suggestions to reduce some annoying behaviors Product: krita Version: 4.2.8 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dr.informat...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- I didn't find where to suggest things so... I had to do it here. There are many things to love about krita but it's often extremely annoying to deal with where it counts. the top problems that often halt my work and force me to go back to photoshop or sai are: - Can't limit the drawing to the image boundaries, I'm sure there's some performance penalty for drawing outside of the image where I don't want or need. - Layer thumbnails take forever to update, even on a small canvas, that can be a side effect of drawing outside the canvas to the infinity. - Thumbnails show what's drawn outside of the canvas, even if I select the canvas area to not draw outside, the thumbnails still show where my brush have traveled. - The thumbnails don't keep the correct aspect ratio and try to fit everything in a square, together with drawing outside of the canvas, often the thumbnails look like a squished mess with a whole lot of empty space around it. - The distort brush doesn't have pressure slider, full pressure is often needed to stretch lines perfectly across some area, for example when I want to fit a frame to a different size. - I gave up trying to get the individual HSB sliders under my color selection, tweaking one of those sliders alone is often used in pixel art, but even if there is such an option it is too hard to figure out. - I love the wrap around mode, but I was a bit disappointed to see it doesn't have vertical and horizontal only mode for tile painting. it's still better than photoshop with no such option though. - The filters are amazing but they often resize the canvas. it's very annoying. - Some filters create amazing patterns to use as a base for game tiles but without seamless option, there's lots of fixing needed before they're usable. I think Krita has the potential to become the main tool for 2D game artists, there's just few things missing, one of them is a clear way to send suggestions and getting involved in the development. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdevelop] [Bug 418065] Crash during autocomplete under Wayland.

[kdevelop] [Bug 418065] Crash during autocomplete under Wayland.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418065 --- Comment #3 from Sven Brauch --- It's possible -- plugins can request completion to start when they think it makes sense, maybe that somehow interferes with the automatic invocation on Wayland. Unfortunately I have no wayland dev setup right now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdevelop] [Bug 418065] Crash during autocomplete under Wayland.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418065 --- Comment #2 from frmdstryr --- This crash occurs so frequently it makes KDevelop unusable for python code. I noticed two things: 1. It only seems to happen on python source code 2. After crashing and restarting it (the autocomplete) usually works one time 3. When it crashes it is showing two popup autocompletions at the same time Disabling "Enable auto completion" under the Settings -> Editing -> Auto Completion prevents this from crashing. But somehow autocomplete still works... could this be some issue with the python plugin? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[KScreen] [Bug 418739] New: tablet mode value is wrong in kded
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418739 Bug ID: 418739 Summary: tablet mode value is wrong in kded Product: KScreen Version: git Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kded Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: bhus...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- As mentioned on IRC, for some reason tablet mode value is in wrong state in the kded for config, which prevents auto-rotation from working. I've tried debugging this without much of luck. But basically, - wayland backend sets value to true - on rotation event it tries to read value from monitored config - which doesn't take value set by wayland backend and defaults to false - as a result TopUp rotation is only thing available (all git master, FTR: kwin had tablet mode reporting broken, https://cgit.kde.org/kwin.git/commit/?id=7c5c7b5a1eba81c1df119993ac0b4bebfd7f2fcc fixes it, so make sure you have it before testing it) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[dolphin] [Bug 418634] file associations ARE NOT REMEMBERED
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418634 --- Comment #8 from Nate Graham --- Sounds pretty frustrating. Maybe you should make your own distro to show everyone how it should be done! ...and that would be how we got into this situation. :) So getting involved with an existing project is clearly preferable. If you want help users receive KDE software as close to the source as possible, I would recommend getting involved with KDE Neon which for all intents and purposes is "the KDE distro". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[dolphin] [Bug 418634] file associations ARE NOT REMEMBERED
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418634 --- Comment #7 from alex --- so... how can I no longer be plagued by this kind of @#$%^*I( ? should I revert to "sudo apt-get install" situations? I remember twenty years ago users dropped Linux because if package dependency problems. twenty years ??? and still the same situation I so wonder how better the world would be if all these developers would UNITE their effort, rather than create islands where they reign, because they don't like something here or there. sorry, I'm so disappointed by Gnome, KDE and all these other beasts that take a lot of disk space and still generate more irritation. I thought that nowadays the front end of a Linux machine is nice to play with - but no. All I discover is frustration, irritation, and lot's of disk space being eaten. The only thing in which these Linux frontends are nice are ... games. Specialised apps. But fundamental apps such as file browsers? And developers seem to forget that a keyboard works better than a mouse, and so my ramblings can go on. OMG. sigh. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Thanks. This bug was fixed a long time ago, so once your distro provides you with newer versions of KDE software, you should get the fix. > One wonders what the use is of all these package managers if all you get are > old versions. ! That's a question for your distro, not KDE. :) If we had our way, all users would always be able to use the latest version. However many distros see things differently, and provide old versions instead of the latest version. If you choose to use one of those distros you'll be using old versions of software. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
