[krita] [Bug 447449] I get an error message that api-ms-win-downlevel-kernel32-l2-1-0.dll is not installed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447449 --- Comment #6 from Creatrix --- (In reply to Alvin Wong from comment #4) > (In reply to Creatrix from comment #3) > > I had to download the .dll file seperately and copy it into the Krita bin > > folder on both versions 5.0.0 and 5.0.2, Windows 7. You never > know if they contain any malicious code, and even if they are legit, you > never know if it will cause any hidden compatibility issues. First of all, I did not suggest (re-read my comment, I am complaining about the fact that I have to go out of my way to fix it instead of it being resolved by developers). I specifically said "I" downloaded. I do understand that there are websites linked to viruses, but you also have to remember that there are internet boffins who know which websites to go to, which programs to use and what to look out for when it comes to malware; we have more experience on the internet and software than normal people since we are glued to the screen 24/7. Secondly, regarding your comment about installing the windows update; you may remember a while back, the specific KB update had a bug just before they ended windows 7 support which installed the edge browser every time you restart the machine regardless if you uninstalled it. I do not have funds for a new machine, so I am stuck with a machine that can only run windows 7. If need be, I will download an older version of Krita and use that until I can fully upgrade my entire setup. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 448098] New: Trying to drag tabs in Chrome to reorder them suddenly always produces a new window
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448098 Bug ID: 448098 Summary: Trying to drag tabs in Chrome to reorder them suddenly always produces a new window Product: kwin Version: 5.22.5 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: nexus20072...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Since the last time Chrome updated, clicking and dragging tabs always creates a new window and they can't be dragged back into another Chrome window. Keyboard shortcuts of Shift+Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn do allow tabs to be merged back into a window, but not being able to reorder tabs is a workflow killer. Several people seem to have reported the same thing with the latest Chrome build (97.0.4692.71) and I'm not 100% sure this is a KWin issue but it seemed the logical place to report for Plasma as it's to do with window management and the issue reportedly doesn't exist using the same Chrome build under Xfce or Gnome. There's current discussion of this issue at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-2d/+bug/935713 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install latest Chrome. 2. Create several new tabs. 3. Try to drag a tab to reorder them. OBSERVED RESULT A new window is created rather than tabs being able to be reordered. EXPECTED RESULT A new window should only be created if the tab is dragged out of the window, and tabs should be able to be dragged into an existing Chrome window. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: using Kubuntu 21.10 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Not sure what would be relevant but will try to answer questions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448087 --- Comment #2 from Andreas Grois --- I was not aware that there is already work ongoing in that regards. Is this bug report then really a duplicate of 406178? Using internal mutability with a Mutex indeed sounds like the most viable approach. It has the drawback of causing runtime errors, but they should be reproducible, so easy to find/fix. I'll grab that branch tomorrow and have a closer look. I'm also considering just sticking to current master for now, as I haven't had any actual issues in my current project, and just noticed that aliasing problem while writing a wrapper for an Emitter. (I'm getting &mut self -> &self in the call stacks, but I don't see how that could cause troubles, with no mutation happening on the aliased memory - but I might misunderstand something here.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[lattedock] [Bug 448096] New: Minimizing and reopening windows in Wayland session causes window to be open on multiple virtual desktops at once
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448096 Bug ID: 448096 Summary: Minimizing and reopening windows in Wayland session causes window to be open on multiple virtual desktops at once Product: lattedock Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: todam...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The general idea is I have a window open on Virtual Desktop 1. Minimize it. Switch to Desktop 2 (ctrl+F2). I click on the icon in Latte-Dock to open the window. Behavior on X11: We switch back to Virtual Desktop 1 and return the window to its state before minimizing. Behavior on Wayland: We stay on Virtual Desktop 2 and open the window on Virtual Desktop 2. However, switching to Virtual Desktop 1 shows that the window is *also open* on Virtual Desktop 1. Minimizing it now on either desktop minimizes it on both, and reopening on either opens it on both. Expected behavior: Either conform to what happens on X11, or (I personally would prefer) opening it on Virtual Desktop 2 only, (if it has been minimized on Virtual Desktop 1 - this offers an easy way to move windows across desktops). I think consistency across X11 and Wayland is probably more important than my single preference here though May be a bug in Kwin in general. I don't know how to open default KDE in Garuda to try, but this is very easy to reproduce so hopefully someone else can confirm. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 0. Open Plasma Wayland session 1. ctrl+f1 to make sure you're on Virtual Desktop 1 2. Open a window 3. Minimize the window 4. ctrl+f2 to switch to Virtual Desktop 2 5. Click in latte-dock to maximize previously-opened window OBSERVED RESULT Press ctrl+f1. Notice that the window is open in both EXPECTED RESULT Window is only open in either Virtual Desktop 1 or Virtual Desktop 2 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Garuda Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.15.13-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz Memory: 11.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I can try to fix this if people can give me information about how to open a debugging version of latte-dock and/or KWin. [rust-qt-binding-generator] [Bug 448087] rust-qt-binding-generator: Undefined Behaviour: One can obtain a mutable reference to a Rust struct from an immutable reference.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448087 Jos van den Oever changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Jos van den Oever --- I agree with the analysis. This is a fundamental problem that I did not realize before. One can get rid of the undefined behavior by changing all '&mut self' to '&self' in the interface and leave the problem for the implementer. (This is also what kdebuac.rhn describes in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406178 ) They might then use a Mutex. That would then lead to a deadlock instead of undefined behavior. The idea of a QueuedConnection would not solve the problem general problem. One would need to guarantee that any code that calls into C++ does not call back in Rust. The only safe way is to have only immutable references. The read-only experimental branch might be the solution: https://gitlab.com/rhn/rust-qt-bindings-generator/-/commits/simplify_ro -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 377857] Ideas to improve usability of metadata sidebar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377857 --- Comment #32 from Jens --- Hello all, José, thanks for updating the mockup with something more "digikam-like" and providing your input! I am totally Ok with making the Properties tab readonly for the time being. However, one of my intentions in the original mockup was to get away from the "black & white list of properties" (where information is harder to find) to make Digikam look less "cluttered" and provide a better UX. IMHO we should try to layout stuff so that properties are always in the same physical (pixel) location in the sidebar and reduce static text to an absolute minimum, just like you also did in the "Photograph Properties" section. Property values should speak for themselves. This makes it a lot easier to find and compare single properties when browsing photos. Maybe we should try to do something similar for the other sections as well? And then maybe we don't even need to separate the sections at all, further decluttering the sidebar. I can provide another mockup if this sounds like a way to go for you. Feedback welcome! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

On MacOS, there is this problem that you need to start Krita in a special way before you get a crash log, so if you can't repeat the crash, we won't really be able to help. The way to get a crash log is described here: https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/sharing_krita_logs.html?highlight=crash%20log#macos So basically your task would be to use the instruction above to start Krita in that special way, and then try to crash Krita in GMIC (just try to repeat what you did that time, if it doesn't close Krita, then maybe change something else and then click the reset button, and then something different and then the reset button, until Krita closes on its own - it would be awesome if you could also remember what you did just before Krita crashed). What to do next is also described in the instruction. However we claim that we can only handle file paths in the desktop file, which results in kioexec being triggered when launching Filelight via KIO::ApplicationLauncherJob Instead state that we can handle URLs so ApplicationLauncherJob knows that it can pass URLs right through M +1-1misc/org.kde.filelight.desktop https://invent.kde.org/utilities/filelight/commit/f94a6f7fb1de8612d6d9f5134b586997385b8120 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 445771] Resizing form crashes desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445771 --- Comment #2 from emil.soderg...@outlook.com --- (In reply to Nicolas Fella from comment #1) > What most likely happend is that kwin crashed, which currently takes all > open programs with it. That's unfortunate and will get fixed eventually, and > is not specific to KDE Connect. > > What would be interesting is a crash report for kwin so we can figure out > why it crashed in the first place I have not been able to reproduce this crash since I installed a debug package. However, I can make two windows "share rendering" and at the same time the mouse cursor becomes a miniature of one of the windows. When resizing Konsole with Alt+Right Mouse Drag and ending the resize ontop of a Brave browser window they both show the Konsole content. When resizing the browser both show that content. The "false" view gets weird aspect ratio but is otherwise a perfect mirror of the other window. This behavior was immediately followed by the forementioned crash before, but now the crash does not happen any more so I do not get any logs... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

In the tab "General", there is a button "Explore in Filelight" which normally opens Filelight which displays a graphical statistics about the directory's content. If you try to do the same with a folder of an MTP device like an Android phone, this function fails with an error message popping up that the folder could not be read. Note that it is possible to open the folder of the MTP device from within Filelight directly, so this is why I think Dolphin is to blame here. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1.
