Committed on 21/08/2022 at 06:16. Pushed by alex into branch 'Plasma/5.25'. Fix KCM duplicates in landingpage In systemsettings, we no longer write a ".desktop" at the end of the KCM ids. This change was made during Plasma 5.24. However, it causes duplicates on some setups. To avoid this, we ignore all of the old .desktop URLs. To ensure that we fill all of the 6 available items, the limit is increased to 12 and we check against a list how many results we have ignored. [valgrind] [Bug 458118] New: Track deletions of objects from unloaded shared libraries
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458118 Bug ID: 458118 Summary: Track deletions of objects from unloaded shared libraries Product: valgrind Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: memcheck Assignee: jsew...@acm.org Reporter: spirrw...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I don't know if this is something that is possible. Consider the following, you create an object in one shared library that is deleted in another. You then unload the library that did the allocation, and then proceed to delete the object. If that object is not trivial and has destructors that need to be called, you will end up with a segmentation fault. Valgrind will simply report the issue as "is not stack'd, malloc'd or (recently) free'd." This had lead me to believing I had some kind of heap corruption bug with an overwrite or underwrite somewhere that was altering the pointer to point at something that did not exist. But it was a lot simpler than that, the shared library that created the object was simply unloaded. If these kinds of bugs could be found by Valgrind, that would be extremely helpful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Input works, clicking and scrolling works. Disabling the property (setting it to false) brings back the cursor, but everything runs fullscreen. This issue does not occur in GNOME (the cursor is visible even when windowed). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install and set up waydroid. 2. Enable the multi window property (waydroid prop set persist.waydroid.multi_windows true). 3. Run any Android app. OBSERVED RESULT The app runs, clicking and scrolling works, but the mouse pointer isn't visible. [frameworks-kconfig] [Bug 427875] On a multi screen setup, KDE app windows do not remember size, position, or the screen they were last opened on. For X11 when the left-most display is not the primary
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427875 --- Comment #67 from Armin --- (In reply to lands.wilmoth from comment #66) > Interestingly, most other windows, such as Visual Studio Code, Super > Productivity, IntelliJ IDE, Android Studio, Virtual Machine Manager, do not > exhibit the symptom. These all remember size and position without issue. I have a similar experience since I switched to Wayland when upgrading to Fedora 36. Applications still running on XWayland seem to actually remember their size and position, but all native Wayland applications, including all KDE applications, don't even get restored on restart. Also, this behaviour is the same with or without an external screen. Thus, one could argue that this is not the right bug report anymore, but then again, the behaviour has changed throughout the years without any source code changes linked to this bug report. It kind of leaves the impression that there is currently no developer that is on top of these code paths. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Discover] [Bug 399502] Sort order chooser for search results disappeared!
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399502 Alex Kh changed: What|Removed |Added CC||khaluk...@gmail.com --- Comment #16 from Alex Kh --- I think it would be fair to let user to decide how does he want his search results to be sorted: - either by relevance - by rating - by name - by the number of downloads This crazyness of Google and Apple to not let users to sort the search results in their application stores must be gone. If you're either android or apple user, you should know it yourself, how little (actually none) controls you have over the search results. Doesn't that drive you crazy? So why to make the same bad decision? Sorry for being harsh, guys, but this searching / sorting topic is spanning for 4 years already without any real progress. [krunner] [Bug 457522] Filesearch runner does not find files that don't have any category assigned
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457522 tagwer...@innerjoin.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- Comment #8 from tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- There's an extra twist... You did a: touch myfile.foobar balooshow -x myfile.foobar and got Terms: Mapplication Moctet Mstream If I try this (on Neon), I get: Terms: Mapplication Mx Mzerosize If I do the same for myfile.txt touch myfile.txt balooshow -x myfile.txt I still get: Terms: Mapplication Mx Mzerosize The "twist" seems to be if baloo is doing content indexing it flags all(?) empty files as "application/x-zerosize". If I purge and reindex without content, I get "application/octet-stream" for the empty myfile.foobar (and "text/plain" for myfile.txt) If I look a bit closer with kmimetypefinder, I get: $ kmimetypefinder myfile.txt text/plain $ kmimetypefinder myfile.foobar application/x-zerosize and also: $ echo "Hello Penguin" > myfile.foobar $ kmimetypefinder myfile.foobar text/plain and that seems reasonable: For an empty file, if the filename indicates a mimetype, use it; if not, say application/x-zerosize. I'd say baloo ought to give the same results here irrespective of whether it is content indexing or not and it would probably make sense if it follows kmimetypefinder logic, so: "text/plain" for an empty myfile.txt "application/x-zerosize" for an empty unrecognised filetype (myfile.foobar, in this case) "text/plain" for an unrecognised filetype with (text) content Krunner would then list an empty myfile.txt but not an empty myfile.foobar. Maybe this is good enough? or am I missing something? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[gwenview] [Bug 458105] New: UX for sorting pictures breaks workflow
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458105 Bug ID: 458105 Summary: UX for sorting pictures breaks workflow Product: gwenview Version: 22.08.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: k...@fuchsnet.ch Target Milestone: --- As per the discussion in the visual design group: I tried to sort through and crop some photos that I took yesterday, and I think the UX for this usecase is pretty bad. If you go through pictures in a folder (e.g. ~/photos/2022-08-20/) Every time you change (e.g. crop) and image and save it, gwenview jumps to that saved image. So if you save it in a different folder (e.g. ~/photos/sorted) you then end up in this folder instead, and you can no longer go through the list of photos you want. There is a message appearing at the top once saved that allows you to jump back to the original, but that message appears with a delay (once saved), so even if you do see that and click that button (which requires switching from keyboard to mouse) you get taken back to that picture, and not whatever picture you were looking at since you continued flicking after hitting save. Suggestion: add an option to invert that behaviour, as in: do _not_ jump to the newly saved image, but rather stay at the original and offer a button to optionally do the inverse. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Sort and crop through a large folder of images 2. Edit some of them 3. Save the edited ones in a different folder OBSERVED RESULT Gwenview jumps to the other folder, breaking your current workflow and position of going through the current folder EXPECTED RESULT Gwenview is able to not interrupt your workflow, but rather only jump to the saved image folder by request SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS All of them -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
