Committed on 14/06/2021 at 08:54. Pushed by ahiemstra into branch 'master'. Don't correct zoom level for hidpi, instead correct target rectangle Otherwise on hidpi we are using effectively scaling down and then up again, which causes ugly rendering of images. [frameworks-knewstuff] [Bug 438582] Removing global theme fails to erase all related files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438582 Dan Leinir Turthra Jensen changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED --- Comment #1 from Dan Leinir Turthra Jensen --- Thanks, and yes, that's confirmed. Now, of course, the super annoying part of my response: This is a non-trivial issue. Basically, we've no good way to determine whether things should be removed again automatically. It's akin to what happens with package managers, where there's no good way to detect whether something is still desired by the user. We /can/ detect whether something is still required by another specific thing on the system (that is, knewstuff can't, but kpackage (the bit that does the cross-origin bits) can do this, or at least be taught how to), and we can detect whether something is in use and refuse to remove it, but what we can't detect is whether the user wants to get rid of the main thing, but still wants to use something. That final bit, though, is arguably something where we just have to ask the user whether that's what they want to do, probably with the things that we know are safe to remove pre-checked, and the others not selected, with a description of why they're not selected (required by something else), or not available for removal (because they're in active use). But, yeah, in short, not a trivial issue, but one that we do want to try and work out how to deal with properly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The problem is that the removed item is called "global theme" which means user already knows it has many sub components installed (icons, cursors, colors...), and if user wants to remove only a sub component of it like icons or cursors it can be done by going to the specific page (Cursors, Icons, Colors...) in Plasma Settings. So from my point of view removing a global theme should automatically erases all of its sub components (even its SDDM theme by prompting for root password like it's done when installing). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 438607] New: Fill tool + Color Label filter + Animation is slow (VERY slow)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438607 Bug ID: 438607 Summary: Fill tool + Color Label filter + Animation is slow (VERY slow) Product: krita Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!) Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Animation Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: grum...@grum.fr Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 139304 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=139304=edit example file ready to use SUMMARY Working on an animation, it takes age to fill an area... STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a document (1920x1080) 2. Create the following layers (or download attached file provided as example) [root] +-- Group1 |+-- Paint Layer 1 |+-- Clone layer (Paint Layer 1) ||+-- Transform mask 1 |+-- Paint Layer 2 +-- Paint Layer (Background) 3. Animate "Paint layer 1" (15 keyframes, basics rectangles for example) 4. Apply a rotation on "Transform mask 1" (30° for example) => no need to animate 5. Select FILL tool, and define options: - Sample: Color labeled layers - Labels used: red 6. Select "Paint layer 2" 7. Fill a shape OBSERVED RESULT On my side, it took 35s to fill area; having multiple area to fill on multiple keyframes, it's unusable. If I use sample "All layers", fill action is instantaneous (so that's a workaround... temporary hide all layers except colored layers and use "all layers" sample to apply fill) EXPECTED RESULT Fill action should be instantaneous with 'color labeled' sample, like it is for 'all layers' sample. I agree (on all accounts). Thanks for all comments (despite being somewhat off-topic, sorry for that), in case I still get / find the behavior problematic, I'll open a new bug report (and will not discuss this any further here). p.s. FWIW running with English or C locale, kinfocenter just points to "a log" (but not to I18N_EXCESS_ARGUMENTS_SUPPLIED anymore as expected). But it still does not point to a specific log or a specific error; I have no idea what it thinks is wrong, and why it thinks it is wrong. Grepping journal for sda, ata1 or wd80... [systemsettings] [Bug 438604] New: removing HDMI audio results in disappearing audio device
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438604 Bug ID: 438604 Summary: removing HDMI audio results in disappearing audio device Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_pulseaudio Assignee: now...@gmail.com Reporter: r.kunsc...@googlemail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- I use a notebook with an "build-in audio" device. The internal speakers use a profile "analog stereo duplex". When I plug a HDMI device more HDMI profiles appearing. So far everything is okay. When I unplug the HDMI cable the "build in audio" device disappears from the audio-settings menu. It is deactivated now and I have to re-enable it from the "configure" menu by selecting another Profile. plasma should select profiles automatically cause this behavior is very confusing. For the user it looks like his audio device is just disappeared. The second problem appears if the notebook is entering sleep mode while removing the HDMI cable because the lid is closed in this moment. Than and sometimes even without doing this, audio profiles disappearing randomly. (this might be an problem with pipewire maybe?) I am not able to get any audio output in this case before i restart the system. Almost thought so. The problem is to find a truly reliable trigger for this thing. The best that I could find was to load many programs (a defined set of) and then log out. But in some cases that may not have been enough to provoke the hang. So it may be that one or the other of the "goods" was a false negative which would then invalidate the final result. The "bads" were clearly bads - that's for sure. What's also puzzling for me is that some logouts happen really fast while others take really long but in the end succeed (hence the 2 minutes wait). When I'm sure I have a definitely trusty trigger I might repeat the bisect. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 438605] New: Plasma's new transparent elements are too bright
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438605 Bug ID: 438605 Summary: Plasma's new transparent elements are too bright Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: tyson...@tysontan.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 139302 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=139302=edit New Plasma transparent elements too bright The new Plasma transparent elements are too bright and too saturated. I guess such an effect mimics a translucent glass over the background color, so both brightness and saturation should be slightly dulled. But now it is intensified, so it really looks out of place. Before KF 5.83.0 update the color looked fine in Plasma 5.22. It only got worse after KF 5.83.0 is pushed for Archlinux. Something wrong with the sampling algorithm maybe?
